Management of Tessier 30-Median Mandibular Cleft: 12-Year Follow-Up-A Case Report.

Midline clefts of mandible and lower lip are rare congenital facial deformities. Non-union of bone in the symphysis of the mandible, median cleft of the lower lip and tongue adherence in the midline to the floor of the mouth are the principle features of the anomaly. Early surgical correction of both hard and soft tissue defects resulted in excellent function such as mastication and speech.

Use of a Heister mouth gag as an aid to reduction in open treatment of condylar fracture.

Introduction: The management of condylar fractures remains controversial. Open treatment of condylar fractures is a routine treatment in cases of displaced or dislocated condylar and subcondylar fractures.

Technical Note: Because of the pull of the lateral pterygoid muscle, the condylar fragment is usually located anterior and medial to the mandible.

Aims And Objectives: To assess and compare the tobacco use prevalence; to understand and compare attitudes and knowledge related to tobacco use and its health impact among urban and rural students; and to assess urban and rural disparity in the use of tobacco among 12 and 15-year-old adolescents in the urban and rural schools in Chhattisgarh, India.

Materials And Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 12 and 15-year-old and urban and rural school going children in Durg District. Scientifically, based on the data obtained from the pilot study, sample size was calculated.

Calcifying cystic odontogenic tumor in a 5-year-old boy: a case report.

The calcifying cystic odontogenic tumor (CCOT), formerly known as calcifying odontogenic cyst, is a rare developmental neoplasm/cyst of odontogenic epithelial origin with considerable histopathologic diversity and variable clinical behaviour. The occurrence of CCOT in the first decade of life is very uncommon. We report an interestingly rare variant of CCOT with ameloblastomatous proliferation affecting the mandibular left posterior region associated with an impacted permanent tooth in a 5-year-old boy.

A symphyseal mandibular facial cleft (Tessier 30) is a rare congenital abnormality. Nonunion of bone in the symphysis of the mandible, median cleft of the lower lip and tongue adherence in the midline to the floor of the mouth are the principle features of the anomaly. A satisfactory result can be achieved with early surgical correction of both hard and soft tissue defects in the age of 6 months.
