Clinical profile of 1208 newly diagnosed colorectal cancer patients in Tamil Nadu-A multi-centric survey.

Background: An increasing incidence of colorectal cancer (CRC) is being reported in developing countries, including India. Most Indian studies on CRC are retrospective and single-centered. The present study is an attempt to understand the current clinical profile and stage of newly diagnosed CRCs across multiple centers in Tamil Nadu, India.

ERCP in acute pancreatitis.

Background: The role of endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) in the management of acute pancreatitis has evolved over years since its introduction in 1968. Its importance in diagnosing the etiology of pancreatitis has steadily declined with the advent of less invasive diagnostic tools. The therapeutic implications of ERCP in acute pancreatitis are many fold and are directed towards management of known etiological factors or its related complications.

Problems in diagnosing lymphoma of the pancreas with computed tomography. A case report.

Primary lymphoma of the pancreas is a rare form of extranodal lymphoma accounting for less than 0.5% of pancreatic tumors. Percutaneous fine-needle aspiration of the pancreas with histopathological examination and immunohistochemical assay confirm the diagnosis.
