Chronic pancreatitis is a benign disease which causes recurrent abdominal pain and loss of pancreatic function. Lateral pancreaticojejunostomy (LPJ) is a commonly performed drainage procedure for this condition. While usually performed through an open approach, there have been few cases of laparoscopic approaches for this condition.

A hybrid Bi-LSTM and RBM approach for advanced underwater object detection.

This research addresses the imperative need for efficient underwater exploration in the domain of deep-sea resource development, highlighting the importance of autonomous operations to mitigate the challenges posed by high-stress underwater environments. Enhanced Electrochemical Performance of Highly Porous CeO-Doped Zr Nanoparticles for Supercapacitor Applications.

The aim of this work was to develop an ultrasonic-assisted synthesis method for the fabrication of CeO-doped Zr nanoparticles that would improve the performance of supercapacitor electrodes. This method, which eliminates the need for high-temperature calcination, involves embedding CeO into Zr nanoparticles through 1 hr (CeO-Zr-1) and 2 hrs (CeO-Zr-2) of ultrasonic irradiation, resulting in the formation of nanostructures with significant improvements in their electrochemical properties. Through physicochemical analysis, we observed that the CeO-doped Zr nanoparticles, particularly those treated for 2 hrs (CeO-Zr-2), exhibit superior crystalline phase purity, optimal chemical surface composition, minimal agglomeration with particle sizes below 50 nm, and an impressive average surface area of 178 m/g.

Neuromelioidosis - A retrospective review of thirteen cases from a tertiary care centre from South India.

Neurologic melioidosis warrants attention in view of its rarity and lethal consequences. We performed a retrospective review of culture confirmed neurologic melioidosis reported between 2017 and 2023. Thirteen patients were identified with median age 43 years and all but three were males.

Synergistic effects of plastic debris and elevated nitrate concentrations on the proliferation of Ulva lactuca micro-propagules.

Ulva lactuca is a versatile intertidal and blooming green macroalga with a global distribution, undergoing a lifecycle that consists of critical phases. The effects of surface physical properties and elevated nitrate concentrations on the growth of Ulva spores were evaluated using ATR-FTIR analysis, water contact angle measurements and fluorescence microscopy. The weathering process conducted with seawater led to the emergence of new functional groups such as CO, CH (rock), and CH, alongside a reduction in existing groups on the polymers, as evidenced by ATR-FTIR.

Ceftazidime-Avibactam resistance in clinical isolates of carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae: A phenotypic and genotypic analysis.

Cytobacts: Abundant and Diverse Vertically Seed-Transmitted Cultivation-Recalcitrant Intracellular Bacteria Ubiquitous to Vascular Plants.

We have recently described 'Cytobacts' as abundant intracellular endophytic bacteria inhabiting live plant cells based on the observations with callus and cell suspension cultures of grapevine and other plant species with the origin ascribable to field explants. In this study, we investigated the prevalence of such cytoplasmic bacterial associations in field plants across different taxa, their cultivability, and the extent of taxonomic diversity and explored the possibility of their embryo-mediated vertical transmission. Over 100 genera of field plants were surveyed for 'Cytobacts' through bright-field live-cell imaging as per our previous experience using fresh tissue sections from surface-sterilized shoot-tissues with parallel cultivation-based assessments.
