A facile one-pot, metal-free method for the synthesis of 2-aminobenzothiazoles was developed, which includes an initial reaction of electron-deficient 2-haloanilines with aromatic isothiocyanates and the subsequent intramolecular cyclization of the resulting thioureas through the SAr mechanism. This one-pot, atom-economical, robust, and scalable method avoids the use of reagents such as acid chlorides and Lawesson's reagent that are difficult to handle.

Different nano-structures of noble metals have been the conventional substrates for carrying out Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS). In this paper we examine electrodeposited copper (Cu) nano-structures on pencil graphite as novel substrate to carry out SERS measurements by considering l-cystine (Cys-Cys) (dimer of the amino acid cysteine) as the probe. The formation of monolayer of the probe molecule on the substrates was confirmed using cyclic voltammetric measurements.

We report on the ability of template-electrodeposited copper on pencil graphite as a novel and cost effective photocatalyst by considering the photodimerization of p-aminothiophenol (p-ATP) to 4,4'-dimercaptoazobenzene.

In the past two decades, the advancement in the microsurgical techniques has revolutionised the reconstruction of post-oncological head and neck defects. Free fibula osteocutaneous flap (FFOCF) has been considered as the treatment of choice by many for mandible reconstruction. The improvement in the surgical resection and adjuvant treatment has improved the survival rates even in patients with advanced cancer.

The carbanion-accelerated Claisen rearrangement has been extended to include phosphorus carbanion-stabilizing groups. The appropriately substituted allyl vinyl ethers are synthesized by the nucleophilic addition of allyl oxides to phosphorus-substituted allenes, which are obtained in one step from simple starting materials. The phosphorus-stabilized, carbanion-accelerated Claisen rearrangements proceed rapidly at room temperature in high yield, and the rearrangements are highly site- and stereoselective.

Cholera enterotoxin (CT) produces intestinal secretion associated with an elevation of intestinal cyclic AMP (cAMP). Indomethacin, a potent inhibitor of prostaglandin (PG) synthesis, decreases CT-induced secretion, although a role for PG in this process has not been demonstrated. The purpose of this study was to measure the effects of indomethacin on net fluid movement and unidirectional Na fluxes in rabbit jejunal loops exposed to CT and to correlate these findings with intestinal cAMP levels.
