Conservative, Functional, and Esthetic Rehabilitation of Severe Palatal Erosion (Class IV) Using Modified Dahl Approach.

This article demonstrates the clinical application of biomechanical and occlusal principles to conservatively provide optimal clinical outcomes in restoring an eroded anterior dentition. The authors manage a challenging case involving limited palatal clearance (ie, deep bite) coupled with palatal erosion and wear by combining the centric relation (CR) and Dahl principles to create anterior interocclusal space to reduce the need for more invasive palatal reduction. The combined use of adhesive restorations-resin composites on the palatal surface and indirect porcelain veneers on the facial/incisal surfaces-through enamel and dentin bonding helped optimize esthetic and functional/biomechanical aspects.

Assessment of validity and reliability of Hindi version of geriatric oral health assessment index (GOHAI) in Indian population.

Objective: The objective of this study was to translate the Geriatric Oral Health Assessment Index (GOHAI) into the Hindi language and assess its validity and reliability for use among people in India.

Materials And Methods: GOHAI was translated into the Hindi language and self-administered to 420 subjects aged 55 years or above. The measures for reliability, and concurrent, convergent, and discriminant validity were assessed.

A need to educate postmenopausal women of their periodontal health.

Background: Postmenopausal women have shown proactive willingness to take responsibility for their changing health care needs. The example of osteoporosis is a model that when educated of their bone health status, this cohort follows through with prevention and treatment regimens. Postmenopausal status is considered to be a risk factor for periodontitis.
