To assess the feasibility and outcome of stent strut dilation after arterial duct stenting with associated branch pulmonary artery (BPA) stenosis. Stenting of arterial duct in infants with duct-dependent pulmonary circulation is technically challenging. The presence of BPA stenosis is a relative contraindication for stent implantation.

Earlier studies that investigated the relation of atrioventricular (AV) conduction system to perimembranous ventricular septal defect (pmVSD) were based on cardiopathological specimens. To study the relationship of conduction system to pmVSD using 3-dimensional electroanatomic mapping system (EAMS) in patients undergoing device closure. Fifteen consecutive cases of pmVSD from January 2014 to July 2017 (age > 2 years and weight > 8 kg) were included in the study.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the outcomes of children with heart disease and young adults with congenital heart disease who contracted COVID-19, revealing limited existing data on this topic.
  • It involved 94 patients from 24 pediatric cardiac centers in India, where a significant proportion were asymptomatic for COVID-19, yet the in-hospital mortality rate for COVID-19-positive cases was 27.1%, highlighting a drastic increase compared to COVID-negative cases.
  • Key risk factors identified for mortality included the severity of illness at admission and belonging to a lower socioeconomic class, emphasizing the need for targeted prevention and management strategies for these vulnerable populations.

The differential diagnosis of a left atrial mass on echocardiogram includes thrombus, vegetation, tumour, and other rare causes like septal aneurysm, pulmonary vein remnant, and septal haematoma. We present interesting echocardiographic images of a rare condition which can masquerade as a left atrial mass following cardiac surgery.

Congenital anomalies of aortic arch and pulmonary arteries can cause airway compression in children. We present a rare case of left main bronchus compression between the right pulmonary artery and descending thoracic aorta, which was successfully treated by aortopexy.

Background: Fetal arrhythmias constitute 10 to 20% of the total referrals to fetal cardiology unit. Ventricular tachycardia (VT) is a rare form of fetal tachyarrhythmia.

Materials And Methods: This report describes the clinical presentation, diagnostic features, and successful management of VT in a fetus at 32 weeks of gestation.

Background: Cardiac rhabdomyoma (CR) often shows spontaneous regression and needs close follow-up. These tumors may be associated with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC), caused by the disinhibition of m-TOR protein.

Objective: The aim of the study is to observe the efficacy of everolimus in infants with significant CR.

Background: Perforation of pulmonary valve using radiofrequency ablation in pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum (PA IVS) is a treatment of choice. However, significant cost of the equipment limits its utility, especially in the developing economies.

Objective: To assess the feasibility, safety, and efficacy of perforation of pulmonary valve using chronic total occlusion (CTO) wires in patients with PA IVS as an alternative to radiofrequency ablation.

Background: Vertical vein is left patent in some cases of supra-cardiac total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC) when there is hemodynamic instability due to noncompliant left atrium and ventricle. After the peri-operative period, this results in features of pre-tricuspid shunt.

Materials And Methods: Three cases with patent vertical vein following repair of supra-cardiac TAPVC presented with features of pre-tricuspid shunt on follow-up.
