mRNA expression dynamics promote and maintain the identity of somatic tissues in living organisms; however, their impact in post-transcriptional gene regulation in these processes is not fully understood. Here, we applied the PAT-Seq approach to systematically isolate, sequence, and map tissue-specific mRNA from five highly studied somatic tissues: GABAergic and NMDA neurons, arcade and intestinal valve cells, seam cells, and hypodermal tissues, and studied their mRNA expression dynamics. The integration of these datasets with previously profiled transcriptomes of intestine, pharynx, and body muscle tissues, precisely assigns tissue-specific expression dynamics for 60% of all annotated protein-coding genes, providing an important resource for the scientific community.

The study was planned to assess and compare immunogenicity and safety of an indigenous DTPw-Hib combination vaccine (Shan 4) with EasyFour, the available DTwP-Hib vaccine in India. Overall 210 healthy infants, six to eight weeks of age, were randomized to receive three doses of either Shan 4 or EasyFour at 6, 10 and 14 weeks of age. Antibodies were analyzed prior to and four to six weeks post third vaccine dose.
