Lipotoxicity is a key pathological feature in the development of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), which is characterized by liver injury, inflammation, and fibrosis. Although lipotoxicity has been shown to induce transcriptomic alterations in liver cells, the specific role of epigenetic regulators in NASH remains elusive. In this study, we demonstrate that pharmacological inhibition of histone methyltransferase G9a significantly worsens NASH progression in mice, as evidenced by increased hepatic cell death, inflammation, and fibrosis.

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of hydroponic fodder on the growth and reproductive performance of Black Bengal goats in East Champaran, Bihar, during the years 2020-21 and 2021-22. A total of 24 goats were randomly assigned to four groups: Control (C) with extensive grazing, gram straw, concentrate feed, and green fodder; Treatment 1 (T1) receiving C + 300 g/day of wheat hydroponic fodder; Treatment 2 (T2) with 300 g/day of maize hydroponic fodder alone; and Treatment 3 (T3) receiving C + a combination of 150 g/day of wheat and 150 g/day of maize hydroponic fodder. Dietary fructose intake through increased consumption of refined sugar induces hepatic de novo lipogenesis (DNL), a major contributor to hepatic steatosis in NAFLD, however, it's mechanism is not completely understood. Using HepG2 cells, we show that fructose induced DNL involves ribosomal protein S6 kinase B1 (RPS6KB1) driven augmentation of hepatic protein synthesis. This consequently results in endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-stress induced expression of pro-lipogenic gene, fatty acid synthase (FASN).

We are reporting four accounts of rhino-orbital mucormycosis in patients during and after recovery from SARS-CoV-2 infection. The patients were diagnosed and treated for COVID-19 according to the current treatment protocols, following which they presented with sudden proptosis, ophthalmoplegia, and conjunctival injection, confirmed by magnetic resonance imaging and histopathological examination. The patients were treated with intravenous liposomal amphotericin B, and the outcome was observed.

We present a case of an uncommon presentation of IgG4-related ophthalmic disease (ROD). A 58-year-old female presented with unilateral acute anterior uveitis of the right eye, which progressed to scleritis with the development of an associated orbital mass despite treatment with oral glucocorticoid. Initial histopathology of an orbital biopsy was non-diagnostic and continued progression of the disease lead to complete loss of vision in the right eye.

A 21-year-old female presented to the oculoplastic clinic with a 2-year history of raised lesions in the right upper eyelid and lateral canthus area. Due to their unusual appearance, the patient underwent an excisional biopsy of the lateral canthus lesion. A diagnosis of granuloma annulare was made after histopathology demonstrated palisading epithelioid granulomas with central fibrinoid necrosis and Alician blue positive acid mucin.
