Covid-19 vaccination in autoimmune rheumatic diseases: A multi-center survey from southern India.

Aim: This survey was conducted to evaluate COVID-19 vaccination status in patients with autoimmune rheumatic diseases (AIRDs). Our objectives were to study vaccine hesitancy, adverse effects, breakthrough infections and flare of underlying disease in this population subgroup.

Methods: This was a multi-center, cross-sectional, interview-based survey done at 6 tertiary care centers across Tamil Nadu, in the southern part of India from September 15, 2021 to October 14, 2021.

ExSer: A standalone tool to mine protein data bank (PDB) for secondary structural elements.

Unlabelled: Detailed structural analysis of protein necessitates investigation at primary, secondary and tertiary levels, respectively. Insight into protein secondary structures pave way for understanding the type of secondary structural elements involved (α-helices, β-strands etc.), the amino acid sequence that encode the secondary structural elements, number of residues, length and, percentage composition of the respective elements in the protein.

Clinical concerns of immunogenicity produced at cellular levels by biopharmaceuticals following their parenteral administration into human body.

Similar to the low molecular weight traditional drugs, biopharmaceuticals are capable of producing not only therapeutic effects but also side effects provided if the dose of these compounds exceeds certain concentration and/or if the exposure duration of these compounds at subtoxic doses is being lengthened. In addition, a major drawback of biopharmaceuticals is the risk of antibody formation. Following the administration of biopharmaceuticals into human body, the formation of antidrug-antibody (ADA) or neutralizing antibody and other general immune system effects (including allergy, anaphylaxis, or serum sickness) are of clinical concern regarding therapeutic efficacy and patient safety.
