Isolated Vascular Malformation of the Clitoris: An Uncommon Cause of Clitoromegaly.

Clitoral enlargement (clitoromegaly) due to non-hormonal causes, particularly due to vascular malformation, is rare. Only eight such cases are reported in the literature. We report an additional case of isolated vascular malformation implicating the clitoris of a young girl child and its surgical management.

Neonatal Paratesticular Scrotal Mass: A Rare Case of Atypical Neurofibromatous Neoplasm with Uncertain Biologic Potential.

Atypical neurofibromatous neoplasm with uncertain biologic potential presenting as a paratesticular scrotal mass in a neonate with congenital giant melanocytic nevus is rare. Only one such case of neonatal scrotal neurofibroma has been reported earlier. We report an additional case and its management.

Abscisic acid-mediated sugar responses are essential for vegetative desiccation tolerance in the liverwort Marchantia polymorpha.

Low-molecular-weight sugars serve as protectants for cellular membranes and macromolecules under the condition of dehydration caused by environmental stress such as desiccation and freezing. These sugars also affect plant growth and development by provoking internal signaling pathways. We previously showed that both sugars and the stress hormone abscisic acid (ABA) enhance desiccation tolerance of gemma, a dormant propagule of the liverwort Marchantia polymorpha.

The phytohormone abscisic acid (ABA) and ethylene play essential roles in plant adaptation to drought and flooding, respectively. It remains largely unknown how plants integrate environmental information for water availability.

Complicated duodenal perforation in children: Role of T-tube.

Background: Diagnosis of duodenal perforation (DP) in children is often delayed. This worsens the clinical condition and complicates simple closure.

Objectives: To explore the advantages of using T-tube in surgeries for DP in children.

VACTERL Associated with a Rare Limb Anomaly Combined with Edward (Trisomy 18) Syndrome.

VACTERL association is a heterogeneous condition that includes at least three out of six core structural defects which occur together more commonly than would be expected by chance alone. We report a rare association of VACTERL with unilateral proximal focal femoral deficiency and trisomy 18 syndrome.

Wound Closure in Large Neural Tube Defects: Role of Rhomboid Flaps.

Background: Large wounds following surgery for neural tube defects are difficult to close; physical wound characteristics such as position and dimension would serve as a guide for their surgical closure.

Aim: To study how wound dimension determines the choice between primary and rhomboid flap closure of skin defects following surgery for neural tube defects.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective study was carried out on cases of neural tube defects operated in the department of paediatric surgery at a tertiary center for 3 years from January 2015 to December 2017.

Acute presentation of koch's abdomen in children: Our experience.

Background: To analyse our experience with acute presentations of abdominal tuberculosis (TB) in children for early diagnosis and management.

Materials And Methods: From December 2010 to April 2016, available electronic and operation theatre (OT) records of 17 patients with confirmed diagnosis of abdominal TB were analysed retrospectively. Parameters reviewed were age, sex, presentations, diagnostic investigations, surgery/intervention performed, final outcome and follow-up.

Malrotation and Midgut Volvulus associated with Asymptomatic Duplication Cyst of Jejunum.

Gastrointestinal duplications can affect any part of the alimentary tract and are notorious for their variable presentation. Their association with malrotation and midgut volvulus is rare. We describe an 8-year old boy presented with episodes of abdominal pain.

Antenatally diagnosed wilms' tumour.

Wilms' tumour (WT) is seldom seen in a neonate and prenatal diagnosis is rare. We present a case of antenatally diagnosed left sided WT with features of hydrops foetalis in a girl baby. Emergency LSCS was done at 34 weeks of gestation for foetal distress.
