Durable interest in developing a framework for the detailed structure of glassy materials has produced numerous structural descriptors that trade off between general applicability and interpretability. However, none approach the combination of simplicity and wide-ranging predictive power of the lattice-grain-defect framework for crystalline materials. Working from the hypothesis that the local atomic environments of a glassy material are constrained by enthalpy minimization to a low-dimensional manifold in atomic coordinate space, we develop a generalized distance function, the Gaussian Integral Inner Product (GIIP) distance, in connection with agglomerative clustering and diffusion maps, to parameterize that manifold.

Here, a copper(I)-catalyzed reaction of 2,6-dibromo- and 2,6-diiodophenols with diorganodiselenides has been studied for the introduction of two organoselenium substituents at both ortho-positions of the phenolic radical chain-breaking antioxidants, which afforded 2,6-diorganoseleno-substituted phenols in 80-92% yields having electron-donating CH , and electron-withdrawing CN and CHO functionalities. Additionally, 2,6-diiodophenols with electron-withdrawing CHO and CN groups also afforded novel 5,5'-selenobis(4-hydroxy-3-(phenylselanyl)benzaldehyde) and 5,5'-selenobis(4-hydroxy-3-(phenylselanyl)benzonitrile) consisting of three selenium and two phenolic moieties along with 2,6-diorganoseleno-substituted phenols has been synthesized.

For this, a cross was attempted between 'DC-466' (white curd) and 'PC-1' (purple curd) and observed intermediate level of purple pigmentation on curds in F plants. Segregation of F population (173) revealed that the purple color of the curd was governed by a single gene dominant over white, but the expression of trait was incomplete.

Approximately 50% of irrigation water could be saved using this system in contrast to lowland rice cultivation. The crop can be directly seeded or transplanted in dry soil in this system rather than irrigated system of rice production.
