Objective: Our study aimed to determine the impact of pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) on sphincter function and overall well-being in patients who underwent low anterior resection (LAR) and diverting ileostomy due to rectal cancer. For this purpose, anal electromyography (aEMG), low anterior resection syndrome (LARS) score, and the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer quality-of-life questionnaires (EORTC-QLQ)-C30 (generic for cancer) and CR29 (specific to colorectal cancer) were used. The primary endpoint of our study is to determine the effect of PFMT on sphincter function by aEMG, the secondary endpoint is to evaluate the effect on quality-of-life using the LARS score, EORTC-QLQ-C30 and CR-29 questionnaires.

We also aimed to assess the electrophysiological diagnostic significance of the VEMP responses in vestibular migraine (VM).
Methods: 23 patients with migraine without aura (MoA), 23 patients with VM, and 20 sex-and age-matched healthy controls, a total of 66 female participants were enrolled in this study.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate possible peripheral and autonomic nerve involvement in familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) patients with nerve conduction studies, sympathetic skin response (SSR) and RR interval variability (RRIV).
Patients And Methods: The comparative case series was conducted with 76 participants between November 2017 and December 2018. Forty-six FMF patients, [12 with amyloidosis (5 males, 7 females; mean age: 44.

Background: Although the mechanism is not clear, the inability of the orbicularis oculi muscle, especially the deeper segment (Horner muscle), is thought to be responsible in epiphora. This study evaluates the effect of the anticholinergic drug pyridostigmine (Mestinon) in patients with patent but dysfunctional lacrimal drainage system.
Material And Methods: Twenty patients with bilateral epiphora (mean age:60.
Purpose: To evaluate the spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) findings and pattern visual evoked potential (VEP) in Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease.
Methods: Seventeen patients with CMT disease and 17 control subjects were included in the study. The patients were divided into two groups according to conduction velocity and inheritance pattern as demyelinating type (CMT 1) and axonal type (CMT 2).

Purpose: Functional epiphora is a clinical condition that presents with the complaint of watery eyes, but without anatomical stenosis in the lacrimal drainage system. Although the mechanism is not clear, there are various possibilities involving the movement of the orbicularis oculi muscle, especially its deeper segment (Horner's muscle). We aimed to evaluate the function of the orbicularis oculi muscle in patients with patent, but dysfunctional lacrimal drainage system using a quantitative motor unit potential (MUP) analysis.

Electrophysiological studies subclassify CMT mainly as demyelinating or axonal types. In this study, we investigated the molecular characteristics of a Turkish cohort of 23 probands out of 34 symptomatic demyelinating CMT individuals from January 2019 to December 2021.

Fabry Disease (FD) is an X-linked lysosomal storage disease that emerges as a result of the mutations in the galactosidase A gene encoding alpha-galactosidase. The peripheral nervous system (PNS) involvement manifests itself as acroparesthetic complaints due to the small-fiber involvement. Our goal was to assess the PNS involvement of 14 patients with FD both clinically and electrophysiologically besides the other systemic features.

We aimed to understand the abnormal networks related to the excitability of masticatory pathways in patients with SB. Eleven patients with SB and age- and gender-matched 20 healthy subjects were prospectively enrolled in our study.

Laryngeal electromyography is used in the evaluation of vocal cord paralysis to confirm the diagnosis, to guide the diagnostic work-up for etiology, to provide prognostic information and to help choose the correct treatment for the patient. Cardiovocal syndrome is characterised by vocal cord paralysis due to a cardiovascular disease. A wide spectrum of conditions can result in this syndrome.

Thirty-five patients with a vocal fold polyp underwent transnasal fiberoptic laryngoscopy, rigid laryngostroboscopy, and LEMG. The findings were compared between the LEMG-confirmed vocal fold paresis patients and the normal LEMG patients.
