Objectives: Research indicates that active smokers are at risk of cognitive impairment. However, the correlation between chronic passive smoking and the risk of cognitive impairment remains underexplored. This study aimed to determine the association between smoking, passive smoking, and cognitive impairment and examined the dose-response effect.

The primary global challenge in combatting TB lies in addressing the emergence of drug-resistant variants of the disease. However, the number of newly approved agents for treating TB has remained remarkably low over recent decades.

Micro firm-level data from 2010-2015 were utilized for the analysis in this study. The stochastic frontier analysis was employed to measure technical inefficiency and to determine its effect on export performance.

Case Presentation: An Indonesian male, 44 years old, Javanese ethnic, complained of progressive dyspnea two days. He had previously been contacting varicella from his daughter 3-4 days before dyspnea onset.
SPR-based technology has emerged as one of the most versatile optical tools for analyzing the binding mechanism of molecular interaction due to its inherent advantages in sensing applications, such as real-time, label-free, and high sensitivity characteristics. SPR is widely used in various fields, including healthcare, environmental management, and food-borne illness analysis. Meanwhile, kidney disease has grown to be one of the world's most serious public health problems in recent decades, resulting in physical degeneration and even death.

Some countries including Brazil, Columbia, Indonesia, China, and Mexico, which are blessed with geographical uniqueness with diverse climates and display remarkable megabiodiversity, potentially provide microorganismal resources for such exploitation. In this review, as an example of drug discovery campaigns against tropical parasitic diseases utilizing microorganisms from such a megabiodiversity country, we summarize our past and on-going activities toward discovery of new antimalarials.

Hoshinoamide C (), an antiparasitic lipopeptide, was isolated from the marine cyanobacterium . Its planar structure was elucidated by spectral analyses, mainly 2D NMR, and the absolute configurations of the α-amino acid moieties were determined by degradation reactions followed by chiral-phase HPLC analyses. To clarify the absolute configuration of an unusual amino acid moiety, we synthesized two possible diastereomers of hoshinoamide C and determined its absolute configuration based on a comparison of their spectroscopic data with those of the natural compound.

Molecular subtypes of breast cancer, histological grade and lymph node metastases are strong prognostic and predictive factors. In Indonesia, only a limited number of studies have investigated the correlation between molecular subtypes with histological grade and lymph node metastases.

Molecular classification is generally into Luminal A, Luminal B, HER2+ and triple negative/basal-like, depending on receptor characteristics. Clinical factors that determined the BC prognosis are age and tumor size.
