Most previously reported susceptors for microwave welding are in powder form. In this study, a thin-film susceptor was employed due to its uniform heating rate and ease of handling. Silicon carbide nanowhisker (SiCNW) were incorporated into a poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) matrix to create a nanocomposite thin film, which served as the susceptor.

The modification of the magnetic nanoparticles with mannitol was designed to enhance the responsive potential for adsorption of the polar E120 dye from complex sample matrices through electrostatic interaction. The as-fabricated N-CDs fluorescent probe exhibited a high fluorescence quantum yield (Φs) of 43.

This study reports the prevalence of functional difficulty in Malaysian children aged 2-17 years and its associated sociodemographic factors and epilepsy.
Methods: Data on children aged 2-17 years (n = 4576) were generated from the National Health and Morbidity Survey (NHMS) 2019, a population-based cross-sectional survey.
A health systems reform known as Service Delivery Redesign (SDR) for maternal and newborn health seeks to make high-quality delivery care universal in Kakamega County, in western Kenya, by strengthening hospital-level care and making hospital deliveries the default option for pregnant women. Using a large prospective survey of new mothers in Kakamega County, we examine several key assumptions that underpin the SDR policy's theory of change. We analyse data on place of delivery, travel time and distance, out-of-pocket spending, and self-reported quality of care for 19 127 women prospectively enrolled during antenatal care (ANC) and surveyed two times after their delivery.

Identifying those at risk of poor response to steroid therapy may be helpful to guide timely intervention with steroid-sparing agents. This study aimed to identify factors associated with steroid-sparing agent needs in children with frequent relapses or steroid-dependent nephrotic syndrome.

Despite much research, the precise nature of the relationship between the amount of sleep and AF remains unclear. This narrative review explores the relationship between AF and sleep duration, looking at genetic, mechanistic, and epidemiological data to explain this association.

As these services which include teleconsultation services and e-prescriptions are relatively new in Malaysia, the data generated provide an unprecedented opportunity to study medication use patterns for the management of NCDs in the country. We analyze e-prescriptions from a local telehealth service to identify medication use patterns and potential areas to optimize medication use in relation to clinical practice guidelines.

The research gap reveals information on the lack of an automatic non-invasive approach toward the diagnosis of AD, in particular with the help of Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence. Another perspective highlights that current VR studies fail to incorporate a comprehensive range of cognitive tests and consider design notes for elderlies, leading to unreliable results.

This study investigates the levels of heavy metals, including cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), and copper (Cu), in locally grown and commercially available leafy vegetables, comparing them to the safety limits established by WHO/FAO. The results revealed that levels of Cd, Cr, Ni, and Pb in the vegetables exceeded WHO/FAO limits, while Zn and Cu remained within permissible bounds.

Additionally, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are the main contributor to climate change; however, croplands are a prominent source of GHG emissions. Yet this complex challenge can be mitigated through climate-smart agricultural practices.

Adsorptive desulfurization (ADS) can address this issue if highly effective activated carbon (AC) derived from industrial waste with excellent textural properties is used. In this study, the derived ACs from glycerin pitch loaded with P and Fe (AC/P and AC/Fe) were used as adsorbents for the ADS of model fuel oils, such as dibenzothiophene (DBT) at mild operating conditions.

With the application of virtual bioequivalence (VBE) study, the drug product development using model-based approach can help in evaluating the possibility of extending BCS-based biowaiver. Therefore, the current study was intended to develop PBPK model as well as in vitro in vivo extrapolation (IVIVE) for BCS class III drug i.

However, we hypothesise that vitamin D levels among coastal populations are above average. Thus, we aim to investigate vitamin D levels and correlate them with the potential contributing factors from three selected coastal villages in Johor, Melaka, and Negeri Sembilan.

Patient navigation has emerged as a cost-effective and impactful approach to enable women with symptoms or suspicious mammogram findings to access timely diagnosis and patients with breast cancer to access timely and appropriate multimodality treatment. However, few studies have systematically evaluated the impact of patient navigation on timeliness of diagnosis and treatment in LMICs.
