We report a Cu-catalyzed asymmetric ring-opening reaction of cyclic diaryliodoniums with 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP), enabling the construction of axially chiral biaryl compounds containing HFIP ether. HFIP is highly polar and exceptionally stable; thus, it is commonly used as a solvent due to its poor nucleophilicity. However, its use as a nucleophilic reagent has been rare.

Lung cancer remains a major contributor to cancer fatalities, with cigarette smoking known to be responsible for up to 80% of cases. Based on the ability of cigarette smoke to induce inflammation in the lungs and increased lung cancer incidence in smokers with inflammatory conditions such as COPD, we hypothesized that inflammation plays an important role in the carcinogenicity of cigarette smoke. To test this hypothesis, we performed multi-omic analyses of Type II pneumocytes of A/J mice exposed to cigarette smoke for various time periods.

We introduce a novel method for fabricating perovskite solar modules using selective spin-coating on various Au/ITO patterned substrates. These patterns were engineered for two purposes: (1) to enhance selectivity of monolayers primarily self-assembling on the Au electrode, and (2) to enable seamless interconnection between cells through direct contact of the top electrode and the hydrophobic Au connection electrode. Utilizing SAMs-treated Au/ITO, we achieved sequential selective deposition of the electron transport layer (ETL) and the perovskite layer on the hydrophilic amino-terminated ITO, while the hole transport layer (HTL) was deposited on the hydrophobic CH-terminated Au connection electrodes.

Nickel (Ni) doped MnO nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized by a quick and facile chemical precipitation technique to investigate their performance in the degradation of methylene blue (MB) in the absence of light. XRD, FESEM, TEM, AAS, XPS, and FT-IR were used for the investigation of the structural, surface morphological, and elemental composition of Ni doped MnO NPs. XRD confirms the formation of a tetragonal phase structure of pure MnO and 1% and 3% Ni doped MnO NPs.

This study provides an efficient and straightforward approach to eliminate carbon dioxide (CO) by absorption using a calcium oxide (CaO) sorbent derived from chicken eggshells. The sorbent concentration, stirring speed, and contact time were varied. The optimal condition for CO removal was a 10% calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)) suspension at 600 rpm with 20 min interaction.

There has been an increase in plastic production during the past decades, yet the recycling of plastic remains relatively low. Incorporating plastic in concrete can mitigate environmental pollution. The use of waste polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles as an aggregate weakens properties of concrete.

The substantial optical features of perovskite quantum dots (PQD) lead to rapid growth in the investigation of their surface and lattice doping for optoelectronic and biochemical sensor advancements. Herein, we have used the surface ligand crafting model of PQD by ammonia and its optimum response to recognise ammonia in the sensing cellulose paper. The PQD with acetyl amine and octanoic acid capped were synthesized and entrapped in zeolites imidazole framework to delay the instant quenching and envisaged response to ammonia with high sensitivity.

The conductive composite Co@SnO-PANI was successfully synthesized using hydrothermal/oxidative synthesis. Using differential pulse voltammetry, a glassy carbon electrode modified with a CoSnO-PANI (polyaniline)-based electrochemical biosensor has been created for the quick detection of two phenolics, hydroquinone (Hq) and catechol (Cat). Differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) measurements revealed two well-resolved, strong peaks for GCE@Co-SnO-PANI, which corresponded to the oxidation of Hq and Cat at 275.

In this report, we report the fabrication of a large grain and high crystallinity perovskite film by combined ultraviolet-ozone (UVO) and thermal treatment of formamidinium iodide solution during the fabrication of formamidinium lead halide (FAPbIBrCl) films by a two-step deposition method. In this process, lead halide films were treated with UVO-treated FAI at different times. In addition, we have observed that hot-casting of UVO-assisted FAI nucleates the α-FAPbI phase in as-prepared films.

Hypervalent aryliodoumiums are intensively investigated as arylating agents. They are excellent surrogates to aryl halides, and moreover they exhibit better reactivity, which allows the corresponding arylation reactions to be performed under mild conditions. In the past decades, acyclic aryliodoniums are widely explored as arylation agents.
