Tackling social disconnection: an umbrella review of RCT-based interventions targeting social isolation and loneliness.

Background: Social isolation and loneliness are urgent public health concerns associated with negative physical and mental health outcomes. Understanding effective remedies is crucial in addressing these problems. This umbrella review aimed to synthesize and critically appraise scientific evidence on the effectiveness of social isolation and loneliness interventions overall and across subgroups.

Optimizing the literature search: coverage of included references in systematic reviews in Medline and Embase.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate if the included references in a set of completed systematic reviews are indexed in Ovid MEDLINE and Ovid Embase, and how many references would be missed if we were to constrict our literature searches to one of these sources, or the two databases in combination.

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study where we searched for each included reference (n = 4,709) in 274 reviews produced by the Norwegian Institute of Public Health to find out if the references were indexed in the respective databases. The data was recorded in an Excel spreadsheet where we calculated the indexing rate.

Clinical outcomes of antimicrobial resistance in cancer patients: a systematic review of multivariable models.

Background: Infections are major causes of disease in cancer patients and pose a major obstacle to the success of cancer care. The global rise of antimicrobial resistance threatens to make these obstacles even greater and hinder continuing progress in cancer care. To prevent and handle such infections, better models of clinical outcomes building on current knowledge are needed.

Harmonization and standardization of malnutrition screening for all adults - A systematic review initiated by the Norwegian Directorate of Health.

Background & Aims: The Norwegian Directorate of Health has identified a need to harmonize and standardize the malnutrition screening practice in Norwegian hospitals and primary health care settings, in order to provide a seamless communication of malnutrition screening along the patient pathway. Our aim was to perform a systematic review of the validity and reliability of screening tools used to identify risk of malnutrition across health care settings, diagnoses or conditions and adult age groups, as a first step towards a national recommendation of one screening tool.

Methods: A systematic literature search for articles evaluating validity, agreement, and reliability of malnutrition screening tools, published up to August 2020, was conducted in: MEDLINE, Embase, APA PsycInfo, Cinahl, Cochrane Databases, Web of Science, Epistemonikos, SveMed+, and Norart.
