Diagnosing palatal swellings is crucial for various reasons, mainly because these swellings can signal a range of health problems, from benign conditions to more serious diseases. Here, we have reported an interesting case of long-standing palatal swelling. Accurate diagnosis typically involves a combination of clinical examination, patient history, imaging studies, and possibly biopsy or other laboratory tests.

Large, cyst-like periapical lesions in 2 patients were successfully treated with combined modalities of root canal treatment, antimicrobial therapy (calcium hydroxide and triple antibiotic paste [TAP]), and mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) obturation of the canal space. In both cases, instrumentation was extended 1 mm beyond the apical foramen to facilitate drainage through the root canal, because it was assumed that the periapical lesion could be cystic.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFForkhead box protein M1 (FOXM1) is often overexpressed in human cancers and strongly associated with therapy resistance and less good patient survival. The chemotherapy options for patients with the most aggressive types of solid cancers remain very limited because of the acquired drug resistance, making the therapy less effective. NPM1 mutation through the inactivation of FOXM1 via FOXM1 relocalization to the cytoplasm confers more favorable treatment outcomes for AML patients, confirming FOXM1 as a crucial target to overcome drug resistance.

A numerical model based on the Transfer matrix method (TMM) is proposed for the first time to study the gold coated tapered fibre optic surface plasmon resonance (SPR) with eight different types of taper profiles namely linear, exponential-linear, Gaussian, quadratic, sinusoidal, error function type and highly perturbed taper profile so-called chirp type of profile. The performance in terms of sensitivity, full width at half maximum (FWHM), detection accuracy (D.A.

Forkhead box (FOX) protein M1 (FOXM1) is a critical proliferation-associated transcription factor (TF) that is aberrantly overexpressed in the majority of human cancers and has also been implicated in poor prognosis. A comprehensive understanding of various aspects of this molecule has revealed its role in, cell proliferation, cell migration, invasion, angiogenesis and metastasis. The FOXM1 as a TF directly or indirectly regulates the expression of several target genes whose dysregulation is associated with almost all hallmarks of cancer.

To create the sensing probe, a nanocomposite layer of rGO is coated over the unclad area of the eFBG. The analysis of rGO material has been done using different characterization tools such as UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction (XRD), and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM).

Eighty-four extracted mandibular premolar teeth with single root and single straight canals were selected and randomly divided into two main experimental groups (n = 36) depending on the apical plug placement technique and a control: Group I: orthograde technique, followed by root-end resection; Group II: retrograde root-end filling technique; one control Group III (n = 12): obturation with gutta-percha, followed by root-end resection. Experimental groups were further subdivided into three subgroups A, B, and C (n = 12) depending on the three different root-end filling materials used.

Methods: A total of 120 extracted human mandibular premolars have been subjected to a standardized protocol of mechanical trauma to simulate tooth fracture. Teeth samples were randomly divided into four groups (n = 30) on the basis of time taken for the preparation of post space (approximately following root canal obturation and 24 h after root canal obturation) for the single unit Edelweiss post and core system and GC post with separate core buildup.
In this study, white-rot fungus, , collected from an unidentified fallen twig from Pathankot, Punjab, India, was used for biosorption of anionic Congo red and cationic Methylene blue dyes from an aqueous medium. The biosorption efficiency of the live biomass of was investigated to optimize biosorbent dosage, process time, concentrations of dyes, and pH of solutions. The results indicated that is more efficient than other reported bio-adsorbents for Congo red and Methylene blue dyes.

Introduction: The efficacy of sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) as an intracanal irrigant is widely debated in endodontic therapy. This study aimed to analyze and compare the penetration abilities of different modes of NaOCl application and assess the impact of various agitation strategies on promoting root canal cleanliness.
Materials And Methods: This study included 168 single-rooted mandibular premolars that were randomly divided into 8 groups.

Deep neck space infection (DNSI) is the infection of the potential space in the Neck; in this study our aim is to identify various aetiological causes, common site, bacteriology, and complications arising from it. DNSI is traditionally managed by prompt surgical drainage of the abscess followed by culture specific antibiotics. It is a prospective cross sectional type of study done conducted on 150 patients suffering from DNSI, it was conducted from March 2019 to March 2020 (1 year duration) at Department of ENT and Head & Neck Surgery, A.

Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) techniques are highly accurate in detecting biomolecular like blood group measurement, food adulteration, milk adulteration and recently developing as a rapid detection for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus. In order to validate the clinical diagnosis, Real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) of nasopharyngeal swabs has been utilized, which is time consuming and expensive. For fast and accurate detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, SPR based biosensing chips are described in this review article.

Methods: One hundred fifty mandibular molars with 2 different mesial canals extracted for periodontal reasons were included in the study. The samples were decoronated at 15 mm from the apex using a carborundum disc under copious water cooling.
The success of root canal treatment depends on complete debridement of pulp tissue from the root canals. Therefore, a thorough knowledge of unusual anatomical findings is of utmost importance. Although the majority of mandibular molars present with 2 roots (mesial and distal) and 3 or 4 root canals, the number of roots and root canals in individual molars may vary.
