Coarctation of the aorta (CoA) is one of the common congenital cardiovascular diseases. CoA can be diagnosed over a wide range of ages, with varying degrees of severity, and in various presentations. The assessment of commonly available demographic, clinical, and easily calculable investigational parameters instead of the conventional complicated indices for prognosis in acute pulmonary embolism may help in triage in a simple and cost-effective way. Clinical, demographic, and investigational parameters were collected and utilized for the assessment of inhospital prognosis of acute pulmonary embolism in 200 consecutive patients admitted to our institute. Overall mortality was 18% and poor outcome at discharge was seen in another 18.

Circumferential stent fracture is extremely uncommon, and in rare cases, it can cause stent thrombosis. Recognizing stent fracture can be difficult on conventional fluoroscopy because of poor stent radiopacity. We found that StentBoost image acquisition yields improved visibility of stent struts, enabling the identification of stent fracture and the precise positioning of new stents over previously stented segments.

Congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries is a rare disease characterized by atrio-ventricular and ventriculo-arterial discordance (double discordance) and is associated with other cardiac anomalies in the majority of cases. The important associated anomalies include ventricular septal defect, abnormalities of left atrioventricular valve, subpulmonary stenosis, and conduction abnormalities. However, the noncompaction-like remodeling of the subaortic, morphologic right ventricle is not a commonly reported association.
