Improving the electronic properties of active cathode materials can significantly impact the design of rechargeable batteries. In this study, we investigated the influence of micro-strain on the structural and electronic properties of LiFePO (LFP) by performing combined core-level spectroscopy analysis and electrical conductivity measurements. High-resolution X-ray diffraction measurements, followed by Rietveld refinement analysis, revealed an increase in unit cell parameters due to the enhanced micro-strain in the lattice structure.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe development of a tavorite structured K- transition metal (T)- fluorophosphate, having earth-abundant Fe as the only T, crystallizing in the orthorhombic crystal system and facilitating stable-cum-reversible electrochemical K-extraction/insertion, has been reported here. Synthesized using low-cost precursors, KFePOF has also been found to be air-stable. Detailed information pertaining to the bonding/structure, including lattice site occupancy, have been obtained via diffraction, Raman spectroscopy and FTIR, with XPS, Mössbauer and ESR revealing the oxidation states and nature of Fe in the as-synthesized condition and upon being subjected to electrochemical potassiation/depotassiation.

Aim: This in vitro study aimed to determine the influence of access cavity design and residual tooth structure and to compare the fracture resistance of the teeth post endodontically restored with short fiber-reinforced composite (GC everX Posterior; GC, India) and conventional posterior high-strength GIC (Glass Ionomer Cement) (GC Gold Label IX; GC, India).
Methods: Ninety extracted human mandibular molars were classified into five groups, i.e.
Objective: Evaluation of plaque removal efficacy of short-headed toothbrush as compared to conventional/traditional toothbrush.
Method: A total of 20 subjects meeting the inclusion criteria were considered. Selected subjects were divided into test and control groups.
Purpose: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of favipiravir, which is prescribed for the treatment of patients with mild-to-moderate coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in India.
Patients And Methods: This was a prospective, open-label, multicenter, single-arm postmarketing study conducted in India. Patients with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 received favipiravir (3600 mg [1800 mg orally twice daily] on the first day, followed by 800 mg orally twice daily, up to a maximum of 14 days) as a part of their treatment.

The present work reports polarization response and the effects of- &-fields on 30% Sn doped BaTiOpolycrystalline relaxor thin films as a function of temperature. Apart from the low temperature frequency dispersion in dielectric data, a frequency independent local maxima in dielectric constant and a concomitant peak in dielectric loss at* ∼ 245 K is observed, which is unusual of bulk relaxor systems. Below*, dispersion in dielectric constant becomes quite evident showing signatures of non-ergodic behavior.

Using diffraction, Raman spectroscopy and x-ray absorption fine structure measurements, iso-structural modifications are observed at low temperatures (≈100 K). The analysis of dielectric constant data revealed signatures of dielectric relaxation, concomitant with these structural modifications in BFTO at the same temperatures.

In this report we use the resistance of the DW as a probe to find an indirect signatures of the theoretically predicted spin-singlet supercurrent to spin-triplet supercurrent conversion effect of ferromagnetic DWs. Here we examine the DW induced resistance in Ni stripe in a bilayer Ni/Nb geometry in the normal state and in the superconducting state of Nb.

Characterized by x-ray techniques and voltammetry, such films, sputter deposited from austenitic steel, were found representing useful replicas of the target material. Typical for stainless steel, the surface consists of a passivation layer of Fe- and Cr-oxides, a couple of nm thick, that is depleted of Ni.

Materials And Methods: A total number of 100 obese subjects in the age group between 16 and 35 years participated in the study. A questionnaire which consisted of anthropometric measurements [neck circumference (NC) ≥ 34 cm for women] and demographic features was used.
The emergence of exchange bias effect in FeO thin films has been since attributed to the presence of anti phase boundary (APB) growth defects despite lack of direct experimental evidence. In the present report, APB induced anomalous weak ferromagnetism and exchange bias property of single-phase antiferromagnetic (AFM) system LuMnFeO (LMFO) is discussed and Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) measurements are used to probe the origin of the observed effect. In addition to the sextet component corresponding to the long range AFM ordering, the measured Mössbauer spectra reveal the presence of a small component (10%-12%) near zero velocity with unusually small internal field.

An ectopic supernumerary tooth causing the formation of rhinolith was never reported before in the medical literature. A 30 years old male patient presented to our hospital with one sided nasal obstruction, recurrent epistaxis, and nasal discharge. This work reports the preparation of magneto-electric GaFeO(3) by the sol-gel route and its characterization by x-ray diffraction, dc-magnetization, ac-susceptibility, low temperature and high field (57)Fe Mössbauer spectroscopy and dielectric constant measurements. The prepared samples are found to be single phase from x-ray diffraction studies. The crystallite sizes are found to be in the nano-regime for the samples sintered at low temperatures.
