India, a country with the second largest population in the world, does not have a national newborn screening programme as part of its health policy. Six disorders were selected for the study based on the availability of funding and recommendation from pediatricians in the district.

Article Synopsis
  • Ritonavir and Lopinavir were studied to see how they work together in a co-amorphous state to achieve supersaturation and how this affects their solubility and flux.
  • The research involved preparing co-amorphous materials using the quench cool method and analyzing them through techniques like XRPD, DSC, and FTIR, as well as conducting solubility and diffusion tests.
  • Findings indicated that while co-amorphous materials can create a supersaturated state, there is a reduction in solubility based on the composition; however, a specific ratio (2:1) showed improved flux compared to each drug alone, likely due to better drug release mechanics.
