General Practice in the Time of COVID-19: A Mixed-Methods Service Evaluation of a Primary Care COVID-19 Service.

Primary care coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) clinics were rapidly introduced across the UK to review potentially infectious patients. Evaluation of these services is needed to guide future implementation. This mixed-methods study evaluates patient demographics, clinical presentation, co-morbidities, service usage, and outcomes for the Islington COVID-19 service (London, UK) and from April to May 2020 and thematically analyses survey responses from 29 service clinicians and 41 GP referrers on their service experience.

Synthesis of benzimidazole based hydrazones as non-sugar based α-glucosidase inhibitors: Structure activity relation and molecular docking.

In search for α-glucosidase inhibitors used in the treatment of diabetes mellitus, a series of unique benzimidazole based hydrazones derivatives were synthesized (5a-5p), which were then investigated for their in vitro α-glucosidase inhibitory potential. The compounds of interest were characterized by modern spectroscopic approaches including CHN, HNM R, CN MR and FTIR. The structure of compound 5n was distinctively authenticated through single crystal X-ray study.

In this study analysis of soil, water and plant residue samples is presented to evaluate the contamination levels and possible health risks. Hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) is a persistent organic pollutant used as a pesticide in agricultural sector for pest control in order to obtain higher productivity. For analysis soil, water and crop residue samples were collected from different agricultural areas of the northern Punjab region of Pakistan.

An analysis of a nonlinear susceptible-exposed-infected-quarantine-recovered pandemic model of a novel coronavirus with delay effect.

In the present study, a nonlinear delayed coronavirus pandemic model is investigated in the human population. For study, we find the equilibria of susceptible-exposed-infected-quarantine-recovered model with delay term. The stability of the model is investigated using well-posedness, Routh Hurwitz criterion, Volterra Lyapunov function, and Lasalle invariance principle.

Biochar from pyrolyzed Tibetan Yak dung as a novel additive in ensiling sweet sorghum: An alternate to the hazardous use of Yak dung as a fuel in the home.

Yak dung is used as fuel in Tibetan homes; however, this use is hazardous to health. An alternative use of the dung that would be profitable and offset the loss as a fuel would be very beneficial. Sweet sorghum silage with yak dung biochar as an additive was compared with a control silage with no additives and three silages with different commercial additives, namely Lactobacillus buchneri, Lactobacillus plantarum and Acremonium cellulase.

Inferior outcomes following cardiac surgery in patients with a functioning renal allograft.

Objectives: Renal transplantation is an effective treatment for end-stage renal failure. The aim of this study was to evaluate outcomes for these patients undergoing cardiac surgery.

Methods: A retrospective analysis identified patients with a functioning renal allograft at the time of surgery.
