This method involves coupling Chitosan (CS) with 2-chloroethylamine (ENH2) in a single step to produce an amino-ethyl Chitosan derivatives with increased amine group content (CS-ENH2) using click chemistry. The resulting derivatives were then crosslinked using Glutaraldehyde to form amino-ethyl Chitosan Schiff bases.
