Stakeholder views on addressing challenges to the implementation of social prescribing in the United Kingdom.

Objectives: This study aimed to understand the key barriers to successfully implementing Social Prescribing (SP) initiatives from different perspectives.

Methods: An in-depth process evaluation using a multi-method qualitative design was conducted. Qualitative data was collected via semi-structured interviews ( = 23) and Focus Group Discussion (FGD'  = 4).

Potential of Natural Products in the Treatment of Glioma: Focus on Molecular Mechanisms.

Despite the waning of traditional treatments for glioma due to possible long-term issues, the healing possibilities of substances derived from nature have been reignited in the scientific community. These natural substances, commonly found in fruits and vegetables, are considered potential alternatives to pharmaceuticals, as they have been shown in prior research to impact pathways surrounding cancer progression, metastases, invasion, and resistance. This review will explore the supposed molecular mechanisms of different natural components, such as berberine, curcumin, coffee, resveratrol, epigallocatechin-3-gallate, quercetin, tanshinone, silymarin, coumarin, and lycopene, concerning glioma treatment.

Silk fibroin/vitreous humor hydrogel scaffold modified by a carbodiimide crosslinker for wound healing.

Natural-derived biomaterials can be used as substrates for the growth, proliferation, and differentiation of cells. In this study, bovine vitreous humor as a biological material was cross-linked to silk fibroin with different concentration ratios to design a suitable substrate for corneal tissue regeneration. The cross-linked samples were evaluated with different analyses such as structural, physical (optical, swelling, and degradation), mechanical, and biological (viability, cell adhesion) assays.

Background: Responsiveness to the population's non-clinical needs encompasses various dimensions, including responsive research and an educational outreach plan at the community level. This study aims to develop a community-responsive research model in the healthcare system to ensure the connection between community-identified health priorities and research funds, as well as capacity-building efforts.

Methods: A mixed-methods research study was conducted in three main phases, including a comprehensive literature review, a qualitative analysis of an expert panel's points of view, and the developing of a model using the Equation Modeling (SEM) technique.

A new self-adjustable glaucoma valve.

Glaucoma, the leading cause of irreversible blindness globally, affects more than 70 million people across the world. When initial treatments prove ineffective, especially for cases with high intraocular pressure (IOP), the preferred approach involves employing glaucoma drainage devices (GDDs). This study introduces a novel self-adjustable glaucoma drainage device (SAGDD) designed to maintain IOP within the desired biological range (10 mmHg < IOP <18 mmHg) by dynamically modulating its fluidic resistance.

Method: We searched all four main databases such as Scopus, PubMed, Embase and Web of Sciences from the beginning of 2000 to March 2022 with appropriate Mesh Terms.

Testicular niche repair after gonadotoxic treatments: Current knowledge and future directions.

The testicular niche, which includes the germ cells, somatic cells, and extracellular matrix, plays a crucial role in maintaining the proper functions of the testis. Gonadotoxic treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy, have significantly improved the survival rates of cancer patients but have also been shown to have adverse effects on the testicular microenvironment. Therefore, repairing the testicular niche after gonadotoxic treatments is essential to restore its function.

In this study, a lactose fatty acid ester was enzymatically synthesised using immobilized lipase (CRL). Its anticancer property against K562 leukemia and HeLa cancer cells was carefully investigated. In the first step, a strategy was applied to encapsulate CRL into a microporous zeolite imidazolate framework called ZIF-8.

Background: Diabetes is widely recognized as one of the most pressing public health concerns globally. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that is the main form of dementia. Abnormal deposition of amyloid-beta (Aβ) peptides in neurons and synapses cause neuronal loss and cognitive deficits. We have previously reported that ferroptosis and necroptosis were implicated in Aβ neurotoxicity, and their specific inhibitors had attenuating effects on cognitive impairment induced by Aβ neurotoxicity.

Global depression in breast cancer patients: Systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Breast cancer is known as one of the most common diseases among women, the psychological consequences of which are common in women and affect various aspects of their lives, so this study aims to investigate the prevalence of depression among women with breast cancer globally.

Method: The present meta-analysis was performed by searching for keywords related to breast cancer and depression in 4 main databases: PubMed, Embase, Web of Sciences and Scopus in the period of January 2000 to November 2021 and the results of the study using R and CMA software were analyzed.

Results: A total of 71 studies were selected in English and the results of the analysis showed that the prevalence of depression in women with breast cancer is 30.
