Ankyloglossia is a developmental anomaly characterized by a shortened lingual frenulum, which can range from cases with no clinical relevance to severe cases, where frenectomy may be indicated. In newborns, this indication has increased exponentially. The purpose of this report is to discuss obstruction of the sublingual caruncle, with a recurrent ranula, as a post-surgical complication of laser lingual frenectomy performed in a newborn.

A rare case of fracture of the coronoid and the pterygoid process caused by firearms is described. A 28-year-old male was hit by a bullet in the face, resulting in restricted mouth opening, difficulty in chewing and pain when opening the mouth. Clinical examination revealed a perforating wound in the right parotid region and a similar wound on the left side of the same region.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to show that gap arthroplasty improve mouth opening when treating TMJ ankylosis.

Patients And Methods: Eight patients with TMJ ankylosis were treated by gap arthroplasty. The patients were evaluated by at least twenty-four months (minimum 24 and maximum 48 months).
