Methods: The Sweetie Project was a community-based cross-sectional study of 147 M & TWSW recruited in two CBOs in Barcelona between 2017 and 2018. A nurse collected biological samples from rectum, pharynx and urethra from the subjects at each CBO and the participants self-completed an epidemiological questionnaire.
The COVID-19 pandemic caused the suspension at all levels of the Catalan FIT-based CRC screening program on March 12, 2020. Screening invitations to FIT were resumed on September 1, 2020. We aimed to assess the short-term impact of the pandemic and describe strategies implemented to minimize harm by the disruption of the FIT-based CRC screening in the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona.

Method: Cross-sectional analysis from a cohort of immigrant families recruited in Badalona and Santa Coloma de Gramenet, in Spain (PELFI cohort). In 2015-2016, 167 immigrants answered the baseline epidemiological questionnaire and the 5-level EuroQol instrument (EQ-5D) which measures health status.
The massive amount of biomedical information published online requires the development of automatic knowledge discovery technologies to effectively make use of this available content. To foster and support this, the research community creates linguistic resources, such as annotated corpora, and designs shared evaluation campaigns and academic competitive challenges. This work describes an ecosystem that facilitates research and development in knowledge discovery in the biomedical domain, specifically in Spanish language.

Introduction: The aim of the intervention was to describe the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of offering HIV testing in outreach interventions and subsequent consultation of the results through a secure web page.
Methods: The HIV test was offered "in situ" to men who have sex with men (MSM), migrant sex workers and trans women recruited in places of leisure and sex. Four collaborating NGOs recruited the participants and assisted them to register on the study website (www.
Description of the implementation of the field work of a pilot intervention whose objective was to promote the early diagnosis of HIV infection by offering a screening test for HIV in gay venues and cruising areas (outdoor sexual contact areas) frequented by men who have sex with men (MSM) in the city of Barcelona and Sitges, and consulting the result through the project website. The pilot intervention was viable and counted with the acceptability of the target group.

The corpus is a collection of 1173 Spanish health-related sentences manually annotated with a general semantic structure that captures most of the content, without resorting to domain-specific labels. The semantic representation is first defined and illustrated with example sentences from the corpus.

The objective of this study was to identify factors associated with HIV prevalence among men who have sex with men (MSM) in the metropolitan region (MR) of Santiago, Chile. Cross-sectional study of MSM living in the MR, recruited using respondent-driven sampling (RDS).

Since this is a chronic treatment, patients receiving it can be expected to need some kind of surgery or intervention during their lifetime that may require treatment discontinuation. The decision to withdraw antithrombotic therapy depends on the patient's thrombotic risk versus hemorrhagic risk.

The use of intelligent systems can be of great help when designing and developing these types of activities. Recently, emerging disciplines such as 'educational data mining' and 'learning analytics and knowledge' have provided clear examples of the importance of the use of artificial intelligence techniques in education.

Two threads of the annuloplasty ring suture are placed at the level of the mitral valve annulus plane to be used as a reference to tie the neochordae.

Methods: An observational retrospective study was developed to include all patients who underwent surgery for active IE from 2002 to 2016. Classical and endocarditis-specific risk scores were calculated.

Torsion mechanical waves have the capability to characterize shear stiffness moduli of soft tissue. Under this hypothesis, a computational methodology is proposed to design and optimize a piezoelectrics-based transmitter and receiver to generate and measure the response of torsional ultrasonic waves. The procedure employed is divided into two steps: (i) a finite element method (FEM) is developed to obtain a transmitted and received waveform as well as a resonance frequency of a previous geometry validated with a semi-analytical simplified model and (ii) a probabilistic optimality criteria of the design based on inverse problem from the estimation of robust probability of detection (RPOD) to maximize the detection of the pathology defined in terms of changes of shear stiffness.

Materials And Methods: Six dentin adhesive formulations were used: 1) Adper Single Bond Plus (SB); 2) SB formulation without VCP (SBnoVCP); 3) Adper Easy Bond (EB); 4) EB formulation without VCP (EBnoVCP); 5) Scotchbond Universal adhesive (SBU); 6) SBU formulation without VCP (SBUnoVCP). Each adhesive was mixed with HAp, polymerized, and analyzed using FTIR and 13C/31P NMR spectroscopy.
Background: Studies of the prevalence of HIV in sentinel populations are one of the key strategies to monitor the HIV epidemic. We describe HIV prevalence trends and identify differences across time in the sociodemographic characteristics of HIV-infected women giving birth in Catalonia.
Methods: We used dried blood specimens, residual to newborn screening, which have been collected in Catalonia every 2 months since 1994.
Background: Among men who have sex with men (MSM), the association between searching for sexual partners' on the Internet and increased risk of sexually transmitted infections (STIs)/HIV infection, together with current low levels of partner notification (PN), justifies a study to explore the intention to use new communication technologies for PN in Spain.
Methods: Two cross-sectional surveys were performed: the first was administered online to visitors to web pages where the survey was advertised; the second was administered on paper to patients attending an STI Unit and centres similar to Community-Based Voluntary Counselling and Testing centres.
Results: The study population comprised 1578 Spanish residents (median age, 34 years [range: 18 to 74]); 84% lived in urban areas, and 69% reported searching for sexual partners on the Internet.
Introduction: Deficits of balance or postural control in persons of advanced age are one of the factors that influence the risk of falling. The most appropriate treatment approaches and their benefits are still unknown.
Objective: The aim of this article is to systematically review the scientific literature to identify the therapeutic effects of dancing as a physical exercise modality on balance, flexibility, gait, muscle strength and physical performance in older adults.
In breast cancer, the number of lymph node metastases is the strongest predictor of outcome. However, histopathology may underestimate the frequency of metastasis. Here we compare automated molecular detection of cytokeratin 19 mRNA by one-step nucleic acid amplification (OSNA) with histopathology of single tissue sections for the staging of axillary lymph nodes in patients with breast cancer.
