The impact of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic on the demographic, clinical and social profiles of patients admitted to the Pneumology Department for a COPD exacerbation.

Introduction: Although a reduction in admissions for pathologies other than SARS-CoV-2 has been reported during the pandemic, there are hardly any specific studies in relation to COPD. The objective of this study was to analyse differences in the profile of those admitted for AEPOC and their prognosis during this period.

Objectives: In 2011, only 18% of the population in Galician knew the COPD. Since then, activities have been carried out to publicize this disease. The objective of this study was to evaluate the current situation regarding the knowledge of COPD in the Galician population.

Cost of Hospitalizations due to Exacerbation in Patients with Non-Cystic Fibrosis Bronchiectasis.

Background: Knowing the cost of hospitalizations for exacerbation in bronchiectasis patients is essential to perform cost-effectiveness studies of treatments that aim to reduce exacerbations in these patients.

Objectives: To find out the mean cost of hospitalizations due to exacerbations in bronchiectasis patients, and to identify factors associated with higher costs.

Methods: Prospective, observational, multicenter study in adult bronchiectasis patients hospitalized due to exacerbation.

[Tuberculous epididymitis caused by Mycobacterium bovis].

Objectives: To focus on the need of including tuberculosis among differential diagnoses of any epidymo-testicular mass, especially if its evolution is torpid.

Methods/results: A 73-year-old man who presented with scrotum abscess underwent surgical drainage and antibiotic treatment, but suppuration relapsed through cutaneous fistulae. A epipidymectomy was then performed, which demonstrated tuberculous granulomas.
