Even though respiratory dysfunctions are the primary symptom associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection, cerebrovascular events, and neurological symptoms are described in many patients. However, the connection between the neuroimmune profile and the lung's inflammatory condition during COVID-19 and its association with the neurological symptoms reported by COVID-19 patients still needs further exploration. The present study characterizes the SARS-CoV-2 infectivity profile in nervous and lung tissue samples of patients who died due to severe COVID-19, and the pro-inflammatory factors present in both nervous and lung tissue samples, via a proteomic profiling array.

Purpose: Despite the success of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) across various cancers, their efficacy in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) is modest, except for a subset of patients who experience significant, yet unpredictable, benefits. DNA repair defects (DRD) are associated with higher neoantigen load, which may predict response. Our study explored the potential of DRD for enhanced responsiveness to the ICI nivolumab.

Neoadjuvant pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy (P + CT) has emerged as a standard of care for stage II-III triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). However, the best anthracycline-cyclophosphamide (AC) schedule remains to be determined. While the KEYNOTE-522 regimen employs AC every 3 weeks (q3w AC), previous studies have shown overall survival benefits of dose-dense regimens for early-stage breast cancer.

During the transition period, dairy cows are often exposed to negative energy balance (NEB), leading to lipid mobilization from adipose tissue into nonesterified fatty acids (NEFA), a common indicator of heightened illness risk. This study aimed to use blood near-infrared (NIR) spectra data to classify NEB into high or low categories, based on early-lactation cow NEFA thresholds. We collected a total of 186 plasma samples from 100 Holstein cows.
