Male morphotypes in a population may lead to the development of social dominance hierarchies in crustacean species. Currently, is the decapod crustacean genus with the largest record of species that present the development of hierarchies. has morphological characteristics that indicate the presence of male social dominance within its populations.

Their morphology differs from other pseudorhombilid species previously described primarily in the number and type of setae on the antennule, antennal exopod, maxilla, first maxilliped, and second maxilliped. These zoeae, however, share the same number of spines on the carapace (rostral, dorsal, and lateral), absence of the endopod on the antenna, long and well-developed spinose protopod, maxillary exopod with four marginal plumose setae and a robust posterior process, the absence of setae on the basis of the second maxilliped, and the presence of three lateral spines on each side of the furca.

Background: Appropriate substituents in the galloyl group could lead to significant biological properties.
Objectives: Novel galloyl-substituted compounds bearing 2-substituted-1, 3, 4-oxadiazol-5-yl, 5- substituted-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl, and carboxamide groups were synthesized and evaluated for their antiproliferative activity. Additionally, galloyl hydrazide (2) was evaluated by performing cytotoxicity, membrane integrity, cell cycle, and apoptosis assays in HepG2/C3A cells.
Among the Caridea Infraorder, the palaemonid shrimp from the genus Typton Costa, 1844 are commonly found in association with sponges, frequently feeding on the tissues of their hosts ((Ďuriš et al. 2011; Almeida et al. 2014; Pachelle et al.

The specimens were collected during two field campaigns that covered the entire shelf length, at depths of 5-30 m. In the first campaign ("Petro-UFS"), four samplings took place between 1999-2000.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Medicinal plants widely used by the population contain significant concentrations of biologically active compounds and, although they have proven pharmacological properties, can cause DNA damage and develop fatal diseases.
Aim Of The Study: The present study aimed to evaluate the genotoxic, cytotoxic potential and clastogenic effects of the aqueous extract from Mangifera indica leaves (EAMI) on rats submitted to experimental genotoxicity models and through the SMART test performed in Drosophila melanogaster.
Material And Methods: The comet assay and the micronucleus test were performed on peripheral and bone marrow blood, respectively, of Wistar rats, orally treated with EAMI at doses of 125, 250, 500 and 1000 mg/kg/bw for 28 days.
Background: Trichilia silvatica, popularly known as "catiguá-branco", is distributed in Brazil (Mato Grosso do Sul), and members of this genus are commonly used for the treatment of rheumatism (arthritis). The aim of this research was to investigate the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antiproliferative activities of the methanolic extract of the leaves (MEL-TS) and bark (MEB-TS) of T. silvatica.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: The preparations of teas and syrups using Duguetia furfuracea have been used in folk medicine to treat rheumatism and back pain. Several rheumatic diseases are anti-inflammatory and are treated with several anti-inflammatories.
Aim Of The Study: The objective of this work were to evaluate the chemical investigation of methanolic extract obtained from leaves of D.
Objective: To implement care practices for perineal trauma prevention and repairing in normal birth.
Method: Quasi-experimental study conducted at Hospital da Mulher Mãe-Luzia, in Macapá, AP, Brazil. Seventy-four (74) nurses and obstetricians and 70 post-partum women were interviewed and the records of 555 patients were analyzed.
Background: To the best of our knowledge, there are no studies evaluating the influence of the unit of the first contact on the frequency and time of pharmacological treatment during an acute coronary syndrome (ACS) event.
Objectives: The main objective was to investigate if the unit of first contact influenced the frequency and time of aspirin treatment in the Strategy of Registry of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ERICO) study.
Methods: We analyzed the pharmacological treatment time in 830 ERICO participants - 700 individuals for whom the hospital was the unit of first contact and 130 who initially sought primary care units.

Objective: Presenting methodology for transferring knowledge to improve maternal outcomes in natural delivery based on scientific evidence.
Method: An intervention study conducted in the maternity hospital of Itapecerica da Serra, SP, with 50 puerperal women and 102 medical records from July to November 2014. The PACES tool from Joanna Briggs Institute, consisting of pre-clinical audit (phase 1), implementation of best practice (phase 2) and Follow-up Clinical Audit (phase 3) was used.
Background: Information about post-acute coronary syndrome (ACS) survival have been mostly short-term findings or based on specialized, cardiology referral centers.
Objectives: To describe one-year case-fatality rates in the Strategy of Registry of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ERICO) cohort, and to study baseline characteristics as predictors.
Methods: We analyzed data from 964 ERICO participants enrolled from February 2009 to December 2012.
