Which Components of The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) are Covered by Cardiac Rehabilitation Assessment Tools among Individuals with Heart Failure?

Background: The therapeutic assessment of functioning in cardiac rehabilitation from the perspective of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) can provide a biopsychosocial approach to health care. However, it is unclear which components are reflected in the instruments used for cardiac rehabilitation in individuals with heart failure (HF).

Objectives: To investigate which ICF components (body function, structures, activities, participation, environmental factors, and personal factors) are represented in the assessment instruments used in individuals with HF and to identify the most appropriate instrument to use based on the inclusion of these factors.

Prevalence of burnout among healthcare workers in six public referral hospitals in northeastern Brazil during the COVID-19 pandemic: a cross-sectional study.

Background: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has placed considerable psychological stress on frontline healthcare workers (HCWs).

Objective: To evaluate the prevalence of burnout syndrome among HCWs facing the COVID-19 outbreak.

Design And Setting: Cross-sectional study conducted in six public intensive care units (ICUs) in the city of Fortaleza, Brazil.

Objective: To verify whether 30 minutes of rest between two incremental shuttle walking tests (ISWT) are enough for cardiovascular variables and perceived exertion to return to baseline values in healthy subjects in a broad age range.

Method: The maximal exercise capacity of 334 apparently healthy subjects (age ≥ 18) was evaluated using the ISWT. The test was performed twice with 30 minutes of rest in between.

[Social support network and health of elderly individuals with chronic pneumopathies].

This study sought to analyze characteristics of the social support network of the elderly with chronic pneumopathies, establishing links with health maintenance/rehabilitation. The assumptions of Social Network Analysis (SNA) methodology were used, addressing the social support concept. A questionnaire and semi-structured interviews, both applied to 16 elderly people attended by a public hospital in Fortaleza-CE, were used for data collection.

Background: Reference values for the incremental shuttle walking test (ISWT) which are applicable to the whole population need to be solidly established. This study aimed to determine which anthropometric and demographic variables influence the walking distance achieved in the ISWT in healthy subjects with a broad age range and to establish a reference equation for predicting ISWT for that population.

Methods: In a cross-sectional study, 242 healthy subjects (102 male) performed two ISWT and had their weight, height and body mass index (BMI) measured.

[Social support in the family caregiver experience].

This is a qualitative and descriptive study aiming to know the experience of taking care of sick people in the context of homes, analyzing the implications of the social support in the physical and emotional health of the family caregiver. The data had been collected by means of the semi-structured interview with 18 family caregivers of people with chronic illnesses. The technique of the Collective subject discourse was used for the organization of the data.
