A qualitative study of perceived barriers and facilitators to point-of-care ultrasound use among Veterans Affairs Emergency Department providers.

Consistent point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) use and retention is difficult to achieve, with prior studies citing a lack of provider training, credentialed ultrasound users, and image review as contributing factors. We aimed to assess user feedback on a POCUS implementation intervention by identifying and characterizing the perceived barriers and facilitators at a single Veterans Affairs (VA) hospital using the consolidated framework for implementation research (CFIR). We implemented a co-designed multifaceted training intervention at a VA emergency department (ED) to enhance POCUS usability and sustainability from November 2021-October 2022.

Impact of conversion at time of minimally invasive pancreaticoduodenectomy on perioperative and long-term outcomes: Review of the National Cancer Database.

Backgrounds/aims: Current literature presents limited data regarding outcomes following conversion at the time of minimally invasive pancreaticoduodenectomy (MI-PD).

Methods: The National Cancer Database was queried for patients who underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy. Patients were stratified into three groups: MI-PD, converted to open pancreaticoduodenectomy (CO-PD), and open pancreaticoduodenectomy (O-PD).

Factors Associated With Control of Diabetes and Hypertension Among Patients Seen as Part of a Longitudinal Medical School Service-Learning Program From 2018-2019: An Exploratory Analysis.

Introduction The Florida International University (FIU) Green Family Neighborhood Health Education Learning Program (NeighborhoodHELP) in Miami-Dade County serves communities impacted by adverse social determinants of health. This study identified sociodemographic factors affecting control of diabetes and hypertension among NeighborhoodHELP patients. Methods This non-concurrent cohort study evaluated NeighborhoodHELP patients who received care at mobile health centers (MHCs) utilizing de-identified data extracted from the MHCs' clinical quality metrics data set for the 2018-2019 fiscal year.
