Effective treatment strategies are essential for managing T2D and mitigating associated risks. Adiponectin (APN), secreted by adipocytes, exhibits an inverse correlation with obesity-related adiposity, and its levels are negatively associated with insulin resistance and body mass index.

Establishment of a novel cellular model for Alzheimer's disease in vitro studies.

Unlabelled: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by memory loss, cognitive impairment, and behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia. The limited efficacy of drugs for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases reflects their complex etiology and pathogenesis. A novel in vitro model may help to bridge the gap between existing preclinical animal models and human clinical trials, thus identifying promising therapeutic targets that can be explored in upcoming clinical trials.

Background: Circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) is a noninvasive substitute to liver biopsy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) molecular profiling. This study aimed to use cfDNA to investigate copy number variation (CNV) in the BCL9 and RPS6KB1 genes and its impact on prognosis in HCC.

Methods: Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction was used to determine the CNV and cfDNA integrity index in 100 HCC patients.

Species of Acanthamoeba Volkonsky, 1931 are the commonest among free-living amoebae that are widespread in different water resources but with lacking phylogenetic data. This study aims at detecting molecular prevalence and genetic diversity of Acanthamoeba isolates in Kafrelsheikh Governorate, Egypt. Forty-eight water samples were collected from 12 swimming pools; four samples during each season over one year.

The necessity for early detection and hence improving the outcome of treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is critical especially in Hepatitis C virus (HCV)-Genotype 4 induced cases. In our current work, we examined the miRNA-152 and DNMT-1 expression in chronic liver disease (CLD) due to HCV genotype 4 infection with/without cirrhosis and HCC patients as an attempt to evaluate the potential benefits of these new circulating, noninvasive, prognostic, epigenetic markers for liver cirrhosis and carcinogenesis of Egyptian patients. Eighty subjects were included in this study, divided into two groups; group I (40 patients) were classified into subgroup Ia (CLD without cirrhosis, n = 18) and subgroup Ib (CLD with cirrhosis, n = 22), group II (CLD patients with HCC, n = 20), and control (Healthy volunteer, n = 20).
