Objective: To compare the perioperative outcomes of papillary versus non-papillary access in percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), which is the 'gold standard' for managing large renal calculi.
Patients And Methods: In this prospective, randomised trial, 70 patients with de novo renal stones amenable to PCNL were allocated to undergo either papillary (n = 35) or non-papillary (n = 35) access. Primary outcomes included haemoglobin drop and the need for blood transfusion.
A novel Zinc-Tellurite borosilicate (ZTBS) glass system was successfully synthesized via the melt quench process. Its chemical composition is represented by the formula (44SiO-25BO-18NaO-6CaO-1ZrO-(6-x)ZnO-xTeO), and its weight fraction (x = 0, 2, 4, 6 wt%). The shielding properties, there is perfect agreement between the results of the theoretical calculation of the mass attenuation coefficient using the Phy-X/PSD and the compatible values derived from the WinXCom databases.

Anaplasma species are intracellular pathogens that impact human and animal health. Despite Qatar having the highest density of dromedary camel (Camelus dromedarius) population, there have been no previous reports of anaplasmosis in dromedary camels in the country. Here, two cases of 5-year-old female dromedary camels presented symptoms like fever, reduced appetite, edema, and respiratory distress.

To explore women's reproductive health, the composition of follicular fluid (FF) has been studied and it was found that changes to its composition, including the presence of exogenous chemicals, can adversely affect the fertilization process. Two groups of women (idiopathic infertility and controls) who were patients at a fertility clinic were recruited for this study.

This study provides explicit proof of the formation of halogenated disinfection by-products (X-DBPs) from RS in chlorinated drinking water within water supply systems. Over time, exposure to chlorinated water ages RS, releasing high levels of organic compounds, which act as DBP precursors.

Despite its therapeutic potential, CBD's clinical application is limited by its poor aqueous solubility and low oral bioavailability. The primary aim of this research was to enhance the aqueous solubility and oral bioavailability of CBD by developing nanostructured lipid carriers (NLCs) using conventional hot homogenization method (CHH).

Mosquito sensilla plays a crucial role in host-seeking and disease transmission to humans. This study aimed to distinguish between the several types of sensilla found on the antennae and maxillary palps of and , matching this diversity with host preference and disease transmission.

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is the most common type of pancreatic malignant tumors and accounts for approximately 90% of pancreatic malignancies. A subtype of PDAC, diffuse type PDAC (DTP), is a very rare and underreported tumor, known for its aggressive traits.

Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy and reliability of the Ovarian-Adnexal Reporting and Data System (O-RADS) ultrasound v2019 in classifying adnexal masses (AMs) and compare the old and updated systems (v2022).
Patients And Methods: This prospective study enrolled 977 consecutive women with suspected AMs from three institutions between January 2022 and December 2023. Ultrasound examinations were performed by three experienced radiologists who categorized AMs according to O-RADS ultrasound v2019.
Objectives: The aim of the study is to determine how electromagnetic stimulation and visceral manipulation can improve pelvic floor strength and reduce the severity of symptoms of postmenopausal stress urinary incontinence (SUI).
Methods: This randomized controlled trial was conducted on 50 postmenopausal female participants aged 50-66 years with a body mass index (BMI) ≥ 30 kg/m2. Participants were equally randomized into the study (A) and control (B) groups.
We employ pDyn (derived from "pandemics dynamics"), an agent-based epidemiological model, to forecast the fourth wave of the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic, primarily driven by the Delta variant, in Polish society. The model captures spatiotemporal dynamics of the epidemic spread, predicting disease-related states based on pathogen properties and behavioral factors. We assess pDyn's validity, encompassing pathogen variant succession, immunization level, and the proportion of vaccinated among confirmed cases.

Atorvastatin is used to treat hypercholesterolemia. It belongs to a class of drugs called statins, which lower elevated levels of total cholesterol (TC) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C).

The current study aimed to evaluate the effect of sublethal concentration (1/50 96 h-LC) of two formulated pesticides: ethoprophos, bispyribac-sodium, and their combination for 1, 2, 3, and 4 weeks on oxidative stress, genotoxic response, and gill morphology in Nile tilapia. This study is the first to demonstrate the toxic effects of ethoprophos and bispyribac-sodium mixture on the commercial important species, Oreochromis niloticus.

CBD formulation development presents significant challenges due to its limited water solubility and susceptibility to first-pass metabolism, both of which restrict its overall bioavailability. The current research aimed to use hot-melt extrusion (HME) technology to develop mucoadhesive buccal films to improve CBD solubility and reduce first-pass metabolism.

Recent developments such as the left ventricular assist device (LVAD) have improved patient outcomes. The HeartMate 3 LVAD is a novel centrifugal pump that was developed to provide hemodynamic support in heart failure patients, either as a bridge-to-transplant (BTT), myocardial recovery, or destination therapy (DT).

This study aimed to gain insights into the adaptation of the microbiota of local Egyptian cattle to three different ecosystems (Upper Egypt, Middle Egypt, and Lower Egypt) distributed across 11 governorates (with an average of 12 animals per governorate) using amplicon sequencing. We analyzed the microbiota from 136 fecal samples of local Egyptian cattle through a 16S rRNA gene sequencing approach to better understand the fecal microbial diversity of this breed which developed under different ecosystems.

Objectives: Research investigating the association between reproductive health and diet has predominantly focused on the antenatal and prenatal periods, as well as childbirth in women, and semen quality in men. There is a limited amount of research addressing female fertility assessed as ovarian reserve in relation to diet. The main aim of this study was to evaluate the association between dietary patterns and the parameters of ovarian reserve, such as antral follicle count (AFC), anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), and estradiol (E2) - predictors of reproductive health in women of childbearing age.

This study aims to elucidate the outcomes of CABG in octogenarians with heart failure and reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), a group traditionally considered at high risk for such procedures. Conducted across four academic hospitals in Germany from 2017 to 2023, this retrospective multicenter study assessed 100 patients (50 octogenarians ≥80 years and 50 non-octogenarians <80 years) with HFrEF undergoing isolated CABG.
