Management of urinary tract infections and antibiotic susceptibility patterns of bacterial isolates.

Aim Of Study: Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are among the most common infections affecting individuals of different ages worldwide. Antimicrobial agents are usually the first-line treatment for UTIs, and the use of the prescribed antibiotic is escalating, resulting in increased rates of bacterial resistance and UTI recurrence. The current study aimed to identify the causative bacteria in Jordan, to explore their resistance pattern to antibiotics and to describe drug-related problems (DRPs) associated with UTI management.

Analysis of SLC7A9 gene mutations among Jordanian patients with cystinuria.

Background: Cystinuria is known as a heritable disorder affecting the cysteine reabsorption by renal system as well as the reabsorption of dibasic amino acids. The main objectives of the present study were to identify genetic mutations in SLC7A9 gene associated with cystinuria.

Methods: A cross sectional study design was conducted.

Nutcracker syndrome associated with celiacomesentric trunk anomaly: case report.

Introduction: Nutcracker syndrome is a rare disease entity that is caused by entrapment of the left renal vein between the aorta and superior mesenteric artery, usually due to abnormal branching of the superior mesenteric artery from the aorta causing renal venous hypertension. The symptoms vary from asymptomatic hematuria to severe pelvic congestion. Celiacomes-enteric trunk anomaly is a rare variation of splanchnic artery anomaly that occurs when the celiac trunk and superior mesenteric arteries have a common origin from the aorta.

Pancake Kidney Found Inside Abdominal Cavity: Rare Case with Literature Review.

The cake or lump kidney is a rare form of fusion. The pancake kidney is always found in the pelvic cavity, in the greater or lesser pelvis. However, we report a case of pancake kidney which was found inside abdominal cavity while investigating 32-year-old male for lower limb pain.
