This study aimed to evaluate kaempferol's, a dietary flavonoid widely present in plants, potential impact on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and its underlying mechanisms. In this study, 60 adult male rats were used and divided into a control group receiving a standard pellet diet, a kaempferol-treated group receiving kaempferol (250 mg/kg), a high-fat diet (HFD) group receiving HFD, and a kaempferol-treated HFD group. At the end of the experiment, the total lipid profile and liver enzymes were assayed in the serum.

This study aimed to assess the possible association between two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the autoimmune regulator () gene (rs2075876 G/A and rs760426 A/G) with the risk of primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP), as well as AIRE serum levels, in the Egyptian population. In this case-control study, 96 cases with primary ITP and 100 healthy subjects were included. Two SNPs of the gene (rs2075876 G/A and rs760426 A/G) were genotyped via Taqman allele discrimination real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR).

This study investigated the frequency of carbapenem and colistin resistance in ESBL-producing (ESBLK) isolates recovered from chickens and their environment, contact farm workers and hospitalized patients in Egypt. Further, the phenotypic and genotypic relationships between the community and hospital-acquired isolates in the same geographical area were investigated. From 272 total samples, 37 (13.

Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) is a pathotype of E. coli that causes enteric and systemic diseases ranging from diarrhoea to severe hemorrhagic colitis (HC) and hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS). The emergence of multidrug-resistant (MDR) STEC from cattle sources has increased public health risk and limited treatment options.

Objectives: To evaluate the relationship between two common single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of CD40 gene (rs1883832 C/T and rs4810485 G/T) and the risk of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) in the Egyptian population.

Methods: A case-control study was conducted retrospectively on 101 cases with ITP and 97 healthy subjects. Two SNPs of CD40 gene (rs1883832 C/T and rs4810485 G/T) were genotyped via Taqman allele discrimination real-time PCR.
