Background: Social determinants of health (SDoH), including access to care, economic stability, neighborhood factors, and social context, strongly influence pediatric asthma outcomes. School-supervised asthma therapy (SST) is an evidence-based strategy that improves asthma outcomes, particularly for historically marginalized children, by providing support for daily medication adherence in school. However, little is known about the relationship between these programs and the adverse SDoH commonly affecting underrepresented minority and marginalized children with asthma.

Text-message reminders for ICS therapy are an evidence-based approach that improves pediatric asthma medication adherence, yet has not been widely adopted into practice, partly due to lack of (1) participant input on design and implementation and (2) use of sustainable community linkages. Remote Asthma Link™ (RAL) seeks to fill this gap as a school-linked text-message intervention wherein parents of children with poorly controlled asthma received daily, 2-way text-message reminders for preventive inhaler use.

Improving the current 3D printing methods by using cellular asymmetry is essential in producing complex tissues and organs such as the liver. The use of cell spots containing at least two cells and basement membrane-like bio support materials allows cells to be tethered at two points on the basement membrane and with another cell in order to maintain cell asymmetry.

This pilot study aimed to evaluate the potential radioprotective effect of Natural SOD, a green barley juice rich in antioxidants, on DNA damage in the testes and lymphocytes of Wistar rats exposed to ionizing radiation.

This study aims to investigate the prevalence of antimicrobial-resistant NTS, especially Salmonella Enteritidis and S. Typhimurium harboured by filth flies at wet markets, and investigate their survival in the simulated gastric fluid (SGF).

The increasing radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic radiation pollution resulting from the development and use of technologies utilizing RF has sparked debate about the possible biological effects of said radiation. Of particular concern is the potential impact on the brain, due to the close proximity of communication devices to the head. The main aim of this study was to examine the effects of long-term exposure to RF on the brains of mice in a real-life scenario simulation compared to a laboratory setting.

However, patients with proximal transhumeral amputation levels and soft tissue deficits present a unique challenge. Existing described targeted muscle reinnervation techniques in transhumeral amputees rely on recipient motor nerves from the biceps and triceps; however, these may be absent in patients with more proximal injuries.

The clinical features of primary and secondary lymphedema differ, with primary lymphedema more often involving progressive bilateral lower extremity disease as compared to secondary lymphedema characteristically having more localized symptoms related to the origin of injury. This case presentation describes a patient who presented with bilateral lower extremity swelling, left greater than the right, with imaging results to support the diagnosis of lymphedema.

Hence, this research aimed to identify the BPs of CEST flour and CEST supplementation's effect on improving nutritional status biomarkers by ameliorating serum protein, hemoglobin, and IGF-1 of malnourished rats.
Methods: CEST flour with a ratio of eel and soy-based tempe of 1:3.
In this study, the fatigue usage factors for Findley and Matake stress-based criteria were determined in the case of an MK5×2 mine hoist drum brake system subjected to cyclic maneuver braking. The study was conducted for this type of brake system, because the majority of mine hoists in Romanian mines are equipped with this brake type, being in operation for several decades. A geometric model of the brake was built using SolidWorks and imported in COMSOL Multiphysics to perform thermo-mechanical simulations.

Using a step-by-step approach inspired by studies conducted on small brake systems with high rotation speeds specific to road and rail vehicles, a comparative analysis using a computer simulation was performed for the two types of brakes of a mine hoist system. A Solidworks model was built for two configurations: the drum-and-shoe and the disc-and-pads, and it was imported to COMSOL Multiphysics, where the material properties and simulation parameters were defined.

The timing of RT initiation and effects on outcomes have been evaluated in a variety of malignancies, but the relationship remains to be well established for brain metastasis.
Methods: Retrospective study of 176 patients (aged 18-89 years) with brain metastases at a single institution (March 2009 to August 2018) who received RT following surgical resection.
Primary delayed onset craniosynostosis is defined as premature suture fusion that developed despite clear radiographic evidence of normal postnatal calvarial configuration and patent sutures earlier in life. It is rare in the literature and typically presents as secondary synostosis. In this brief clinical study, primary delayed onset craniosynostosis is described in its unique presentation at 4 years of age with a complex genetic history including ERF-related craniosynostosis syndrome and familial cerebral cavernous malformation syndrome.

Contrast enema is successful in treating the majority of patients, and if initially unsuccessful, approximately one-third may be reduced with repeat enemas. We sought to study protocol implementation for delayed repeat enema in pediatric patients not reduced completely by an initial contrast enema.

The goal of this project was to minimize opioid prescribing at the time of discharge for children undergoing appendectomy by using Quality Improvement (QI) methodology.
Study Design: Children (18 years of age or less) who underwent appendectomy were evaluated from January to December 2019 using NSQIP-Pediatric at 10 children's hospitals within the Western Pediatric Surgery Research Consortium.
Fresh pennywort ( is usually eaten raw as 'ulam' or salad-like lettuce. Unfortunately, the fresh pennywort has the potential to cause foodborne outbreaks due to pathogens present on the surface and between the leaves, as washing the pennywort using tap water alone cannot guarantee that the pathogens are eliminated. Thus, the efficacies of several sanitizing solutions, i.

These can be prevented by using various measures, including analyses and strength tests, with computerized modeling and simulation using FEA or other techniques being implemented in the recent years. In this paper a fatigue study is conducted on the boom of a BWE.
