The demand for fertility-sparing surgery (FSS) has increased in the last decade due to increased maternal age, increased incidence of ovarian malignancies in younger patients, and technical advances in surgery. Data on oncological safety and fertility outcomes of patients with ovarian cancer after laparoscopic FSS are sparse, but some retrospective studies have shown that open FSS may be offered to selected patients. We assessed the role of minimally invasive FSS in comparison with radical surgery (RS) in terms of oncological safety and reproductive outcomes after FSS in this multicenter study.

In the absence of targeted treatment options, neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) is applied widely for triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Response to NACT is an important parameter predictive of oncological outcomes (progression-free and overall survival). An approach to the evaluation of predictive markers enabling therapy individualization is the identification of tumor driver genetic mutations.

With approximately 220,000 newly diagnosed cases per year, ovarian cancer is among the most frequently occurring cancers among women and the second leading cause of death from gynecological malignancies worldwide. About 70% of these cancers are diagnosed in advanced stages (FIGO IIB-IV), with a 5-year survival rate of 20-30%. Due to the poor prognosis of this disease, research has focused on its pathogenesis and the identification of prognostic factors.

Objectives: The goal of this study was to examine the safety, feasibility, and effectiveness of the use of a microsurgical temporary vascular clip system to facilitate the laparoscopic enucleation of very large intramural uterine fibroids.

Methods: In this retrospective study, the surgical outcomes of 26 patients who underwent laparoscopic myomectomy with temporary uterine vessel clipping for very large (the largest measured diameter ≥ 9 cm) symptomatic intramural uterine fibroids in two tertiary referral hospitals between September 2017 and March 2020 were examined. Titan-made vascular clips (YASARGIL Aneurysm Clip System) were used to temporarily occlude the bilateral uterine arteries and utero-ovarian vessels.

Background: Conditions such as genital prolapse and hernia are known to be related to connective tissue dysfunction. In this report on cases of the rare simultaneous finding of large genital prolapse and post-prolapse repair female inguinal bladder hernia, we aim to contribute to the discussion of a possible clinical definition of connective tissue weakness, for its clinical assessment and preoperative patient counselling.

Case Presentation: Three cases of medial third-grade (MIII, Aachen classification) inguinal bladder hernia developing or enlarging after successful stage-IV pelvic organ prolapse (POP) repair at a university pelvic floor centre are presented.

The topic of fertility preservation has been gaining increasing importance since the beginning of this century. The reasons for this development are the advances in oncological therapy over the past few decades, with cure rates of approximately over 90%, and the fact that starting families is increasingly postponed in later periods of life in industrialized countries. Since March 2020 the whole medical and non-medical world experiences a pandemic due to Covid-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) which has never been seen before.

Urethral length was evaluated retrospectively in patients with prolapse undergoing anterior native-tissue repair. Effects of age, prolapse stage, defect pattern, urodynamic and clinical stress test findings, and tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) surgery indication were analyzed using Mann-Whitney and Wilcoxon tests and linear and logistic regression. Of 394 patients, 61% had stage II/III and 39% had stage IV prolapse; 90% of defects were central (10% were lateral).

Endometriosis has a negative influence on the physical, psychological, and social aspects of a patient's life; therefore, it affects the health-related quality of life (HRQoL). The current review aimed to investigate the efficiency of a 36-item generic questionnaire survey (SF-36) for patients with endometriosis who were undergoing medical or surgical treatment. A search strategy including the key words 'endometriosis', 'quality of life' (QOL), and 'questionnaire SF-36' was applied using the PubMed/MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane databases in order to include articles that evaluated the QOL among women with endometriosis using the SF-36.

Background: Breast cancer has traditionally been considered to have a low immunogenic potential compared to other tumor entities.

Summary: The most extensively studied immunotherapeutic agents for breast cancer to date are immune checkpoint inhibitors, with the results of the IMpassion130 trial leading to the approval of atezolizumab plus nab-paclitaxel for first-line treatment of programmed cell death ligand 1-positive, metastatic, triple-negative breast cancer, and studies in earlier stages have yielded promising results. Other immunotherapeutic options being assessed in phases 2 and 3 trials include vaccine-based therapies and treatment with anti-human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (H-directed immune-linked antibodies) and substances evaluated in early clinical trials as cellular therapies (adoptive cell therapy and chimeric antigen receptor T cells).
