Follicular lymphoma (FL) is a gradually progressing type of B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), distinguished by its characteristic follicular pattern of growth and a typically indolent clinical course. It is identified by the abnormal growth of B-cells in the lymph nodes. We report a case of a 45-year-old female who came up with complaints of heavy menstrual bleeding and easy fatiguability.

Article Synopsis
  • * A total of 150 laboratory workers participated, using a questionnaire to assess demographics, safety practices, and perceptions of workplace safety, with statistical analysis performed via Microsoft Excel and SPSS.
  • * Results show poor safety habits: 62% of participants do not wash their hands before wearing gloves, and 20% consume food at work; perceptions about workplace disturbances are significantly influenced by factors like age and job responsibilities.

Introduction Psoriasis involves rapid cell growth and abnormal differentiation of skin cells. Dysregulation of apoptosis has been proposed in the pathogenesis of psoriasis. The role of Bcl-2 as an anti-apoptotic protein in pathogenesis has not been studied in detail in these cases.

Xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis (XGPN) is a chronic granulomatous inflammatory condition that affects the kidney and can often be hard to diagnose preoperatively due to its varying clinical presentations. We present here a rare case of a 36-year-old man with focal XGPN with preoperative CT imaging showing a large heterogenous lesion (computer tomography Hounsfield unit (CT HU) + 20) of size ~ 8.6 x 8.

Article Synopsis
  • Cardiac ochronosis is a rare condition linked to alkaptonuria, characterized by black pigmentation in cardiac structures, discovered in a 60-year-old woman during valve replacement surgery for severe aortic stenosis.
  • Intraoperatively, the presence of a pigmented aortic valve led to the diagnosis of alkaptonuria, prompting a switch from a bioprosthetic to a mechanical valve for better long-term outcomes.
  • Post-surgery, the patient was discharged without complications, with plans for regular follow-up to monitor her valve function and manage her condition's progression.

Autonomous sleep tracking at home has become inevitable in today's fast-paced world. A crucial aspect of addressing sleep-related issues involves accurately classifying sleep stages. This paper introduces a novel approach PSO-XGBoost, combining particle swarm optimisation (PSO) with extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) to enhance the XGBoost model's performance.

Article Synopsis
  • The study explores the presence of various types of abstract differential and integrodifferential equations linked to Sobolev equations using impulses and a non-local constraint.
  • It applies semigroup theory, particularly constant formulas, to derive analytical results for these equations.
  • The research also examines outcomes through the Banach fixed point method using fuzzy numbers, detailing different scenarios to clarify the concepts involved.

With the increasing pressure to decarbonize our society, green hydrogen has been identified as a key element in a future fossil fuel-free energy infrastructure. Solar water splitting through photoelectrochemical approaches is an elegant way to produce green hydrogen, but for low-value products like hydrogen, photoelectrochemical production pathways are difficult to be made economically competitive. A possible solution is to co-produce value-added chemicals.

The primary objective of postgraduate medical education is to produce specialists who provide highest quality of health care to suffering patients and return them to the community in the most functional capability. The secondary objective is to advance the cause of science through research and training. A postgraduate, after undergoing the required training in anaesthesiology, should be able to recognise the health needs of the community and apply cognitive and psychomotor skills to provide optimal anaesthetic care.

Photodeposition is a specific method for depositing metallic co-catalysts onto photocatalysts and was applied for immobilizing platinum nanoparticles onto cellulose, a photocatalytically inactive biopolymer. The obtained Pt@cellulose catalysts show narrow and well-dispersed nanoparticles with average sizes between 2 and 5 nm, whereby loading, size and distribution depend on the preparation conditions. The catalysts were investigated for the hydrogenation of -nitrophenol transfer hydrogenation using sodium borohydride as the hydrogen source, and the reaction rate constant was determined using the pseudo-first-order reaction rate law.

Background: Surgical revascularization by coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is the gold standard treatment for coronary artery disease. But, in patients with severe left ventricular dysfunction (ischemic cardiomyopathy), the result of CABG is different from those with normal left ventricular function. The coronary artery disease pattern in the Indian subconti-nent is different from the western world, due to the diffuse nature of coronary involvement, the smaller size of native vessels, increased prevalence of diabetes mellitus and other risk factors, and more prevalence of severe left ventricular dysfunction.

Rising concern about patient safety has resulted in growing interest in non-technical skills (NTS) among anaesthesiologists. Growing evidence suggesting the use of good NTS training in patient safety in simulated as well as real-world environment made them important in medical education. Both technical skills (TS) and NTS are interdependent.

All-solid-state batteries with Li metal anode can address the safety issues surrounding traditional Li-ion batteries as well as the demand for higher energy densities. However, the development of solid electrolytes and protective anode coatings possessing high ionic conductivity and good stability with Li metal has proven to be a challenge. Here, we present our informatics approach to explore the Li compound space for promising electrolytes and anode coatings using high-throughput multi-property screening and interpretable machine learning.

Background: Longstanding ostium secundum atrial septal defects lead to functional tricuspid regurgitation. Significant functional tricuspid regurgitation associated with left heart valve disease is addressed at the time of primary left heart valve surgery. In contrast, there is no global recommendation for tricuspid regurgitation associated with atrial septal defects.

Background And Objective: Nodular fasciitis (NF) is a self-limiting, transient neo- plasm composed of fibroblasts and myofibroblasts. Since it regresses spontaneously, diagnosis by fine needle aspiration (FNA) cytology plays a major role in its management.

Methods: We present a series of 8 cases with either FNA or biopsy diagnosis ofNF, and study the major cytological features with a review of literature on diagnostic criteria and its pitfalls.

Background: The incidence of rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease still remains high in the developing countries. Mitral stenosis is predominantly due to rheumatic origin and affects females more than males. Historically, closed mitral valvotomy (CMV) was the first effective intervention for mitral stenosis.
