Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to test for EGFR, ALK, ROS1, and MET genetic alterations in tissue and blood samples from treatment-naïve NSCLC patients and analyze their impact on overall survival.
  • A total of 100 patients were evaluated; results showed that 61 had genetic changes in tissue samples, with EGFR mutations being most common, while plasma tests had lower sensitivity and specificity.
  • The findings indicate that using both tissue and plasma testing improves EGFR mutation detection rates and can guide treatment decisions, enhancing overall survival for patients receiving targeted therapy.
