As a result of the thermo-mechanical impact during welding, distortions are generated in welded structures. These distortions significantly influence the geometric and dimensional accuracy of welded structures, in many cases lowering their working characteristics and reliability. An optimal design for welded structures is a prerequisite for increased reliability and reduction in manufacturing cost, and such an optimal design can be achieved knowing the distortions in weldments.

Clinical Approach in Prosthetic Treatment With 3D-Printed Implant-Retained Removable Denture: DENTCA System.

The aim of this study is to present a method that optimizes clinical and laboratory workflow in the fabrication of implant-supported removable dentures by combining conventional and digital protocols. Characterization of Cm neutron sources.

There is a need to find a replacement for the Cf sources currently used in Standards-based performance testing of neutron instrumentation. This is a result of its relatively short half-life, concerns about future availability and recent increases in cost. EVOLUTION OF THE IEC AND EN STANDARDS FOR INDIVIDUAL MONITORING OF IONISING RADIATION.

This article presents the evolution of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the European standards for individual monitoring of ionising radiation issued, respectively, from the committees IEC/Sub Committee 45B and European Committee for Electro-technical Standardization/Technical Committee 45B 'Radiation protection instrumentation'. Standards for passive individual photon and beta dosimetry systems as well as those for active individual monitors are discussed. A neutron ambient dose equivalent (rate) meter standard and a technical report concerning the determination of uncertainty in measurement are also covered.

Cervix carcinoma and incidental finding of medullary thyroid carcinoma by 18F-FDG PET/CT--clinical case.

Thyroid nodules are encountered in clinical practice during the diagnostic procedures or patients' follow-up due to other diseases quite far from the thyroid gland with prevalence 4-50% in general population, depending on age, diagnostic method and race. The prevalence of thyroid nodules increases with age and their clarification should be done for their adequate treatment. An 18F-FDG PET/CT was done with a PET/CT scanner (Philips Gemini TF), consisting of dedicated lutetium orthosilicate full ring PET scanner and 16 slice CT.

We have evaluated 60 women, divided into four groups each one of 15 according to the kind of surgical intervention: section cesarean, laparoscopy, laparohysterectomy or cystectomy. The effect of administered Perfalgan over postoperative pain was estimated by different objective and subjective parameters after standard general anesthesia.
