Thoracic abscess due to unusual migration of a ventriculoperitoneal shunt and literature review.

Background: Thoracic complications of ventriculoperitoneal (VP) cerebrospinal fluid shunting are rare and the diagnosis is difficult without neurological impairment.

Case Description: We report a case of a 36-year-old woman who had a VP shunt in the right side when she was 13 years for a posterior fossa ependymoma and hydrocephalus. 23 years after surgery, she developed acute yellowfish cough and sputum, and the computed tomography scan found an intrathoracic cyst.

Deep Brain Stimulation in Moroccan Patients With Parkinson's Disease: The Experience of Neurology Department of Rabat.

Deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the subthalamic nucleus (STN) is known as a therapy of choice of advanced Parkinson's disease. The present study aimed to assess the beneficial and side effects of STN DBS in Moroccan Parkinsonian patients. Thirty five patients underwent bilateral STN DBS from 2008 to 2016 in the Rabat University Hospital.

[Lombosacral epidural capillary hemangioma mimicking a dumbbell-shaped neurinoma: A case report and review of the literature].

Introduction: Capillary hemangiomas are benign endothelial cell neoplasms that are believed to be hamartomatous proliferations of vascular endothelial cells. The occurrence of spinal epidural capillary hemangiomas is exceedingly rare. Only 8 epidurally located cases of capillary hemangiomas in the spinal canal have been reported in the literature.

Upper cervical spine injuries: a management of a series of 70 cases.

Traumatic injuries of the upper cervical spine are often encountered, and may be associated to severe neurological outcome. This is a retrospective study of 70 patients, admitted over a 14 years period (1996 to 2010), for management of upper cervical spine injuries. Data concerning epidemiology, radiopathology and treatment was reviewed, and clinical and radiological evaluation was conducted.
