Current trends and future directions in internalized weight stigma research: a scoping review and synthesis of the literature.

Background: Since the first papers focused on internalized weight stigma were published in the mid 2000's, the literature has grown into a robust field that complements existing knowledge on weight stigma. Recently, researchers have documented the need for increased conceptual and measurement clarity, to distinguish internalized weight stigma from body dissatisfaction. Although several systematic reviews have been conducted on portions of the internalized weight stigma literature, no review to date has been conducted examining the entirety of the literature.

Testing body-related components of objectification theory: A meta-analysis of the relations between body shame, self-objectification, and body dissatisfaction.

Objectification theory has been instrumental in better understanding risk for eating disorders, depression, and sexual dysfunction, with self-objectification and body shame as serial mediators leading to these outcomes. Although originally proposed to explain these mental health outcomes in heterosexual women, researchers have extended objectification theory to individuals of various ages, racial identities, and sexual and gender identities. We conducted a systematic literature review of empirical peer-reviewed published research examining the relationship between the constructs of self-objectification, body dissatisfaction, and body shame in adult, youth, and LGBTQ+ samples.

Dietitians Working in Continuing Care Facilities in Nova Scotia: Pre- and Post-COVID-19 First Wave.

Continuing care (CC) facilities have been impacted by a growing demand for services, insufficient resources for the provision of quality food and nutrition care, and, most recently, the COVID-19 pandemic. This study explored the roles and responsibilities of dietitians working in CC facilities in Nova Scotia (NS) before and after the COVID-19 first wave. Using ethics-approved questionnaires, the estimated 75 dietitians working in CC facilities in NS were surveyed in Fall 2019 and Fall 2020 about their roles and responsibilities.

Corymbia species and hybrids: chemical and physical foliar attributes and implications for herbivory.

Hybridization is an important biological phenomenon that can be used to understand the evolutionary process of speciation of plants and their associated pests and diseases. Interactions between hybrid plants and the herbivores of the parental taxa may be used to elucidate the various cues being used by the pests for host location or other processes. The chemical composition of plants, and their physical foliar attributes, including leaf thickness, trichome density, moisture content and specific leaf weight were compared between allopatric pure and commercial hybrid species of Corymbia, an important subtropical hardwood taxon.
