A variety of approaches exist due to a lack of an ideal standard for service integration. There are few examples of the use of Instagram in pharmacy education and no reports of student perspectives on using Instagram to supplement self-care pharmacy coursework. Objective: To investigate prior pharmacy work experience (PPWE) in admissions to predict clinical and didactic performance.

Methods: In this retrospective study, data from 3 cohorts, classes of 2020-2022, were collected. Multivariate regressions were conducted to determine the impact of PPWE on performance in first-year pharmacy (P1) Community Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPEs), second-year pharmacy (P2) institutional IPPEs, P2 & third-year pharmacy (P3) Observed Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), Drug Information class and P1, P2, P3 grade point averages (GPAs).

To assess how Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) students use patient-centered communication (PCC) during a community pharmacy introductory pharmacy practice experience (IPPE). All first-year student pharmacists at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences completed a required course in patient-centered communication that included training in motivational interviewing. After subsequently completing their first IPPE, the students submitted written reflections on their use of PCC during the experience.

Background: With the introduction of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Stars Measure program has come a greater expectation of Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services from community pharmacies. To meet the growing demand of these services, pharmacies have sought out various methods of engaging pharmacists to provide MTM. Barriers for completing MTM include inadequate time to complete the services, insufficient staffing, lack of sufficient compensation, billing difficulty, lack of interest among patients (including refusing MTM services when offered), inadequate training/experience, and lack of support from management.

Introduction: Nonprescription emergency contraception (EC) is now available for purchase without age restrictions. This is a great opportunity for pharmacists to provide counseling to ensure that customers use EC correctly.

Objective: This pilot study explored the impact of student pharmacist counseling on customer knowledge of EC in a retail pharmacy setting and assessed customer satisfaction with the counseling.
