Synthesis of Menthol Glycinates and Their Potential as Cooling Agents.

A convenient method of synthesis has been developed for a new class of potential cooling agents, menthol glycinates. These compounds are prepared in two synthetic steps, starting from bromoacetyl bromide and (-)-menthol. The resulting brominated menthol ester readily undergoes substitution reactions with NH and 1° or 2° amines to provide menthol glycinates.

Objectives: Although assessing individual consumer preferences are an important first step in providing person-centered care, the purpose of this study was to identify the top 10 shared preferences that are important to a majority of consumers receiving long-term services and supports.

Design: A cross-sectional survey design was used.

Although much research has examined end-of-life care preferences of nursing home (NH) residents, little work has examined resident preferences for everyday health care. The current study conducted interviews with 255 residents recruited from 35 NHs. Content analysis identified barriers (i.
