Introduction: The thermal index (TI) is critical for monitoring potential heating risks in ultrasound examinations. This study aims to analyse adherence to TI guidelines in clinical ultrasound exams, focusing on the thermal index for soft tissue (TIS) and thermal index for bone at the focus (TIB).
Methods: Clinical ultrasound images over a five working day period from a single NHS University Hospital Trust were analysed using a custom MATLAB script.
Published literature for reported sorption coefficients (K) of eight anionic per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in soil was reviewed. K values spanned three to five log units indicating that no single value would be appropriate for use in estimating PFAS impacts to groundwater using existing soil-water partition equations. Regression analysis was used to determine if the soil or solution parameters might be used to predict K values.

This article summarizes the evidence that suggests periodontitis shifts the lipoprotein profile to be more proatherogenic. Repair of the injured or diseased central nervous system will require the manipulation of glial precursors, so that the number of glial cells is adjusted to that of neurons, enabling axonal tracts to be rebuilt, remyelinated and functional.
