Oncology Survivorship Care Clinics: Design and Implementation of Survivorship Care Delivery Systems at NCCN Member Institutions.

Background: It is estimated that there are >18 million cancer survivors in the United States, and there is a growing number of survivorship programs across the country to care for these individuals. There is a clear need for survivorship care; however, evidence is still emerging on how to best operationalize the guidance from nationally recognized organizations and clinical practice guidelines.

Methods: The NCCN Best Practices Committee (BPC) recently conducted a survey to better understand survivorship clinics at NCCN Member Institutions.

Background: The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of healthcare workers throughout the world has been reported, but most studies have been cross-sectional and excluded the Midwestern U.S. healthcare workforce.

GPR56 S4 variant is required for microglia-mediated synaptic pruning.

ADGRG1 (also called GPR56) plays critical roles in brain development and wiring, including cortical lamination, central nervous system (CNS) myelination, and developmental synaptic refinement. However, the underlying mechanism(s) in mediating such diverse functions is not fully understood. Here, we investigate the function of one specific alternative splicing isoform, the GPR56 splice variant 4 (S4), to test the hypothesis that alternative splicing variants of GPR56 in part support its different functions.

An exploration of reminiscence and post-war European immigrants living in a multicultural aged-care setting in Australia.

This phenomenological study explores the experiences and perceptions of the telling of life stories of four post-war immigrants living in a multicultural residential aged-care setting in Australia. This study aims to shed light on what participants feel about life stories, and the prospect of involvement in the documentation of their life story in order to provide insight and understanding for optimum programme facilitation and better resident care.Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the four participants.

Measurement of fuel oxygenates in tap water using solid-phase microextraction gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.

The presence of alkyl ether fuel oxygenates in drinking water supplies has raised public health concerns because of possible adverse health effects from chronic exposure to these compounds. To enable large exposure studies exploring possible relationships between chronic exposure to alkyl ether fuel oxygenates and health effects, we developed an improved analytical method, using headspace solid-phase microextraction coupled with capillary gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. This method quantifies trace levels of methyl tertiary-butyl ether, ethyl tertiary-butyl ether, di-isopropyl ether, and tertiary-amyl methyl ether in tap water.
