The Support, Education and Learning Needs of Experienced Nurses Who Are Transitioning to Work in Intensive Care: A Scoping Review.

Aim: To ascertain the current evidence about the support, education and learning needs of experienced registered nurses who are transitioning their work to intensive care nursing as a new context.

Design: A scoping review was conducted using established frameworks from JBI, Arksey and O'Malley.

Methods: A search was conducted in CINHAL and MEDLINE (April 2023).

Implementing a National Nursing and Midwifery Digital Health Capability Framework: Exploring Knowledge, Experience in Informatics and Barriers and Enablers.

A National Nursing and Midwifery Digital Health Capability Framework was developed in 2020 to define and complement digital health knowledge and skills for professional practice. This mixed-methods study explored nurses' and midwives' Framework knowledge and its applicability, types and extent of nursing and midwifery informatics roles, and barriers and enablers to working in informatics. Survey respondents reported familiarity with the Framework, with content analysis identifying three themes - informatics as part of nursing or midwifery roles, descriptions and variability of informatics roles, and the need for informatics role development and recognition.

Being effective and supervising for thesis success in nursing coursework master degrees: A qualitative descriptive study.

Background: Master's degrees for nurses have various foci including clinical practice, leadership and education, with some programs consisting of coursework, while others offer hybrid study that combines coursework and research. Multiple formats are associated with offering the research component. The research component is often termed the minor thesis.

Addressing Perinatal Substance Use: A Triad Approach Led by the Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative.

Unintentional overdose is a leading driver of maternal death in Colorado. The high volume of maternal deaths from preventable causes lends questions to failures in our clinical and community-based care for pregnant and postpartum people. The Colorado Maternal Mortality Review Committee identified 3 main contributors including stigma in the community and health care system, fragmentation of the health care system, and the need for more clinician training.

Postgraduate nurse education in Indonesia and Australia: A comparative analysis.

Background: Indonesia and Australia are neighbouring countries; however, their nursing systems are very different and there is limited migration between countries.

Aim: As part of a larger study, the aim was to undertake a comparative analysis of postgraduate nurse education in Indonesia and Australia.

Design: Detailed literature review across academic and grey literature and semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders in Indonesia (n = 52) and Australia (n = 13) representing education, governments, professional nursing organisations, and rural, remote and urban health care providers.

Alternatives to opioids for pain management in the emergency department decreases opioid usage and maintains patient satisfaction.

Objective: The objective of this study was to assess opioid use in an emergency department following the development and implementation of an alternative to opioids (ALTO)-first approach to pain management. The study also assessed how implementation affected patient satisfaction scores.

Methods: This study compared data collected from October to December of 2015 (prior to implementation) to data collected between October and December of 2016 (after the intervention had been implemented).
