The dependence is derived to determine the duration of drying process for medical products in the course of steam sterilization. The drying index for assessing efficiency of different drying techniques is proposed. With the index, the most useful drying technique can be selected, and the duration of drying process can be determined.

The following rubber medical products have been used as objects: surgical gloves, drainage and connecting tubes, and stoppers. The studies make it possible to define the gravity-fluctuation technique as the optimum one for air removal, and the optimum loading density of sterilization boxes that ensures the object sterility.
