Seven known isoquinoline alkaloids 1-7 were isolated from the root extracts of Berberis parkeriana Schneid. Nine new derivatives 8-16 of one of the isolated compounds, jatrorrhizine (7), were synthesized. All the isolated as well as derivatized compounds were evaluated for their in-vitro acetylcholinesterase (AChE), and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) inhibitory activity.

We employed a qualitative research design and collected data through in-depth qualitative telephonic interviews with thirteen women academics in four public sector universities in Pakistan.

The objective of the current study was to compare sustained release behavior of natural and synthetic polymers in matrix tablets of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide combination. Guar gum was used as a hydrophilic natural polymer while Eudragit L 100-55 was used as synthetic polymer. Tablets were formulated by direct compression method using different ratios and combinations of both polymers.

The present paper reports a case of a subject who presented with severe periodontally compromised dentition.
