Using a trustworthy electrochemical sensor in the detection of urea in real blood samples received a great attention these days. A thin layer of nickel-coated nickel-manganese (Ni@NiMn) is electrodeposited on a glassy carbon electrode (GC) (Ni@NiMn/GC) surface and used to construct the electrochemical sensor for urea detection. Whereas, electrodeposition is considered as strong technique for the controllable synthesis of nanoparticles.

Water is essential for conserving biodiversity, ecology, and human health, but because of population growth and declining clean water supplies, wastewater must be treated to meet demand. Nitrite is one of the contaminants in wastewater that is well-known. It is crucial to identify nitrite since it can be fatal to humans in excessive doses.

Nickel-based surfaces have received significant attention as an efficient substrate for electrooxidation. This work studied doped nickel surfaces with Cu atoms to enhance the CO-Tolerance. A comparative study was performed for CO adsorption upon different cleavage facets of pristine and Cu-doped nickel surfaces, whereas the adsorption energy, charge transfer, and density of state for CO were estimated using GGA-RPBE calculation method.
