Purpose: To update the Carleton Laboratory for Radiotherapy Physics (CLRP) TG-43 dosimetry database for low-energy (≤50 keV) photon-emitting low-dose rate (LDR) brachytherapy sources utilizing the open-source EGSnrc application egs_brachy rather than the BrachyDose application used previously for 27 LDR sources in the 2008 CLRP version (CLRPv1). CLRPv2 covers 40 sources ( Pd, I, and Cs). A comprehensive set of TG-43 parameters is calculated, including dose-rate constants, radial dose functions with functional fitting parameters, 1D and 2D anisotropy functions, along-away dose-rate tables, Primary-Scatter separation dose tables (for some sources), and mean photon energies at the surface of the sources.

Purpose: To determine the effect of biological maturation on athletic movement competency as measured using the Athletic Ability Assessment-6.

Methods: Fifty-two junior Australian Rules football players were split into 3 groups based on proximity to peak height velocity, while 46 senior players were split into 2 groups based on playing status. The subjects completed the Athletic Ability Assessment-6 (inclusive of the overhead squat, double lunge, single-leg Romanian dead lift, push-up, and chin-up).

Modern navigation systems integrate the global positioning system (GPS) with an inertial navigation system (INS), which complement each other for correct attitude and velocity determination. The core of the INS integrates accelerometers and gyroscopes used to measure forces and angular rate in the vehicular inertial reference frame. With the help of gyroscopes and by integrating the acceleration to compute velocity and distance, precision and compact accelerometers with sufficient accuracy can provide small-error location determination.

The synthesis of cyclacene nanobelts remains an elusive goal dating back over 60 years. These molecules represent the last unsynthesized building block of carbon nanotubes and may be useful both as seed molecules for the preparation of structurally well-defined carbon nanotubes and for understanding the behavior and formation of zigzag nanotubes more broadly. Here we report the discovery that isomers containing two Dewar benzenoid rings are the preferred form for several sizes of cyclacene.

Background: In 2018, the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma (AAST) published revisions to the renal injury grading system to reflect the increased reliance on computed tomography scans and non-operative management of high-grade renal trauma (HGRT). A new visualization tool, Cinema:Bandit, and its demonstration with a continuous workflow for analyzing shock physics experiments and visually exploring the data in real time at X-ray light sources is presented. Cinema:Bandit is an open-source, web-based visualization application in which the experimenter may explore an aggregated dataset to inform real-time beamline decisions and enable post hoc data analysis. The tool integrates with experimental workflows that process raw detector data into a simple database format, and it allows visualization of disparate data types, including experimental parameters, line graphs, and images.

Atomically defined interfaces that maximize the density of active sites and harness the electronic metal-support interaction are desirable to facilitate challenging multielectron transformations, but their synthesis remains a considerable challenge. We report the rational synthesis of the atomically defined metal chalcogenide nanopropeller FeCoSeL (L = PhPNTol) featuring three Fe edge sites, and its ensuing catalytic activity for carbodiimide formation. The complex interaction between the Fe edges and CoSe support, including the interplay between oxidation state, substrate coordination, and metal-support interaction, is probed in detail using chemical and electrochemical methods, extensive single crystal X-ray diffraction, and electronic absorption and Mössbauer spectroscopy.

Importance: The first Postnatal Growth and Retinopathy of Prematurity Study (G-ROP-1) developed new screening criteria with 100% sensitivity for type 1 retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) and 30% reduction of infants requiring examinations in a retrospective development cohort of 7483 infants from 29 North American hospitals in 2006-2012. Infants meeting 1 or more of the following criteria undergo examinations: gestational age less than 28 weeks or birth weight less than 1051 g; weight gain less than 120 g during age 10 to 19 days, weight gain less than 180 g during age 20 to 29 days, or weight gain less than 170 g during age 30 to 39 days; or hydrocephalus.

Objective: To evaluate the generalizability of the G-ROP screening criteria in a new cohort of at-risk infants.
